Because power lines can carry data as well as electricity, utilities and broadband companies are hoping the technology will allow consumers to get high-speed Internet connections simply by plugging a special adapter into a wall outlet. Some utilities, including Con Edison in New York, have started offering such services on a limited basis.

Good for people like me, too bad it's only in certain areas.

As I know power lines were able to provide 10Mbit/s speed. I wonder what will IBM make about this. Or it`s just the right adaptor to use ?

I've heard about 40-50MBit/s, but that might not be true, as well ti might be...

Well that doesnt concern me anyway, as the 100MBit/s Lan is fast enough for me, @~25$/month(regular price for every client, and that's counting taxes  ).
