Is it worth my while to switch over to a Version 2 from version 1...
As far as I can tell there is no benifit apart from Hyperthreading .
I already have the mobo (doing a few builds for freinds) so it is not that big a hassle to switch them on the prommie, but is it worthwhile as far as overclockabilty compared to the version 1 or is there no difference .
Cheers,

Well, the nice thing about it is that you can run your memory at 3:4 or 4:5.
4:5 is handy if your cpu can run at high FSB's.
Performance wise, it's a little better than the IT7, specailly with memory timings. Although I must say that i'm having some slight problems with it lately.
But overall, it's a good board but I don't know if the big price tag is worth the upgrade.
I bought it because I had a 2.4B that I could run at 180+ FSB, so the 4:5 divider came in handy. :) But also because the first results from the board were very positive.
Perhaps I might take a look at the Epox 4PEA, don't know yet. But it seems like a good board too, and much cheaper than the v2.0

Hmmm ok you have me interested now now.... I have not paid anything for the mobo, I am doing an install for a freind who could not overclock his way out of a wet paper bag. So I thought I would just take off the difference in price and put that puppy to some good use...
I now have a mission for the night, mobo switch :)
are the drivers different (system and such) or could I get away with not erasing my info and just installing the board and updating all the drivers ?
Im also thinking of doing pilsy's contact mod for the prommie (is -37c idle/-25c load, from display) about right ?
cheers,
