Get a dehumidifier/airconditioner and convert it into a single stage unit with a baker or chilly1 block. Charge it with R290 (propane), you should be able to hit -40 with that setup for sure. The only thing is that for the first time you need all of the tools to build it which can add up to a lot of money, but if you decide to build another one in the future then it will cost a lot less because you have all of the tools. :toast:

trust me for someone with little knowledge of refrigeration theres no easy simple way. it took me months of background reading and planning. read all the stickies and as many threads in the forum as possible its suprising how much you do learn.
