What are you guys using to cool your NB on the IT7 max 2 ?
I want to put a crystal orb or something else while I wait to set up my GPU watercooling.
but it is impossible due to the lack of mounting holes ...
Can someone direct me to another option or way because I am not happy with the temps Im getting on it now (22c to 35c)
Is that temp acceptable ?
What I have on it now is the original heatsink with some shin-etsu thermal compound and a small fan bolted on top and it is getting the temps above.
Cheers,

I removed that pink compound and put some AS3 on it. Added a small 40mm fan on the heatsink too.
Never checked temps though, so can't tell.

Im using a TT tiger on my Epox and also used it on the MAx2 Rev2 for a few days...:)
I like it and imo it cools better than plain passive heatsinks that we get default....plus its near silent so it wont bother you above the other case fans...:)

That one does look nice but will it clip on to an IT7 Max 2 ?
The IT7 has only 2 brackets to clip on to..
if anyone is thinking of a crystal orb and IT7 max 2 just forget it :)

i dont think the crystal orb will fit...unless used superglue or Epoxy
that Tiger 1 cooler is designed for Intel 845 chipsets :D

*Placing order now*
Unless someone can convince me there is a better option
I thought about possibly supergluing it but the damn chip is so tiny as it is that there would not be much room for glue and thermal goo. As well as that it would be perched on top of that tiny square and runs the risk of either totally falling off on it's own or me knocking it about during my mindless hardware changes :)

enjoy it dude :D
much better than the passive heatsink...also make sure to put a coat of AS3

yup, well I already had a small fan bolted on to the passive sink that was there but I am not happy with the temps as far as thermal interface I have a choice of AS3 and I also have some shin - etsu , the shin -etsu is actually quite good and brought down the temp of my radeon -2 compared to the AS3... but it is difficult to work with ( like dry peanut butter )

I am conducting tests for Overclockers.com with the Shin Etsu, I'm running extended long term testing to allow full settling in for both AS3 and Shin Etsu
Stay tuned

guys ill be getting my it7-max2 v2.0 this week and ill be drilling 2 holes near the chipset. SO stay tuned if my board will work if i drill in to it. LOL
So does anyone have the Tiger installed on an IT7-max2v2??? That looks like it would work perfect but i would like to make sure it will fit

Newegg was having a sale on AMD stock HSF's so I bought two, ($4 a pop). Going to AS epoxy one to the NB of my BE7. Right now I've got a 40 mm fan glued onto the stock HS and it still hits 53 C. Blows. I've thought of AS epoxying a chipset waterblock on it but I just can't justify the cost.
The top of the NB is just a little nipple, maybe 5 mm square, on the 845PE. Not sure why they did that but it sure runs hot.
