The scores are based on how many FPS you get while running the benchmark.

thats true, but not from the xt label, the r360 (xt and some pro) core has some shader instructions activated when running a XT bios but with PRO bios it is not activated, that is why you gain around 500points

Throw your 9800 @ him. Although keep this away from any nvidia fanboys, they might say this is why you need 2*7800's to beat 1 x800xt in 2001

No it doesn't....the score is based exclusively on FPS.

I'm talking about every Futuremark program. Throw Aquamark3 in there as well...they SOLELY rely on performance, it doesn't give a crap what's giving that performance.

Yep, but again it doesn't care about the hardware, that's making it...
For example the score formula for 3D Mark 2003 is:
(Game Test 1 frame-rate x 7.3) +
(Game Test 2 frame-rate x 37) +
(Game Test 3 frame-rate x 47.1) +
(Game Test 4 frame-rate x 38.7)

It's may be the most exact test, becouse it pays more meaning to the heavy tests, and not much about the first, that is DX7.0...
