Vapochill LS making strange sounds ?

Hi, I'm about to buy a used Vapo LS, but the owner says it often makes strange sounds. Here's a soundfile, any of you ever head this ? (It's definitely not the fans)

It's overcharged, that's the popping sound atleast. Maybe the cat's sound is also because liquid is returning to the compressor.

I don't think the Vapochill LS is really made for the AMD 90nm low-power cpu's. You could take some insulation from the suctionline and maybe blow some air over it untill the popping stops at idle.

Is the base of the compressor cold?

Since it's not mine I don't know if it's cold, I'll send him a PM. But imho it doesn't sound like it's overcharged..

Edit: Someone PM'd me the compression motor (?) could be damaged?

That compressor just is noisy.

He said it's louder than the Fans on 100% !!

I got a Vapo LS with a faulty compressor some time ago. The valve plates were damaged, it made a rattling noise. But in this mp3 I didn't recognise any weird sounds.

Wow that one sounds like crap, I don't have anything to record with otherwise I would and post it but mine is actually not to loud and doesn't make any of those popping noises.

Sounds like he has something wrong with the fans or the compressor to me...

if the popping noises aren't coming from the system i'd say it sounds OK as long as it's working.

Well I think most of oyu got something wrong there, the "popping noises" are made by positioning the microfone I think. :D
