Okay.. pretty simple question... what will give overall best performance...
I know for single card benchmarking the Ati card is the better one and will kill a Nvidia one...
I don't plan on buying another 6800GT (since 7800 has come) so don't say stuff about SLI, I do NOT care about SLI... :)
Is is possible to flash this card to XT PE? And what is the average performance in games? I think of running cpu (Venice 3500+ ATM) at about 3000 Mhz 24/7... so I don't think there will be a cpu bottleneck...
Favorite games are: Half Life2 (ATI), NFSU (also ATI I think), Counter-Strike (OLD :p), etc...
So actually just... how does this card compare itself to 6800GT in games... Thx ! :)

Take the ATI, if they are at the same price. If the 6800GT is much cheaper you could better take that one. They are both sufficent for the games you want to play :)

the x800xt is faster , but i can't seem to find one cheaper than the 6800 gt. imho, i don't believe the x800xt is worth the extra price , and is not cost effective for the performance compared to the 6800 gt, which will give you much more performance for the money.

Well actually... I have the possibility to keep one of these two cards.... I do not plan on going SLI... so that's no extra for Nvidia....
I like benchmarking too.... and I will score much beter with an Ati... that's for sure...
So not thinking about prices... what would be the best choice?
Thx for all the help guys... !!!!
EDIT:
Does Asus make any cards with 12 pipes instead of 16 on an XT? I'm not 100 % sure about the card.... the guy just showed me the website... and it said 12 Pipelines.... but it DID say XT clockspeeds....
So is this another marketing stunt of Asus? And did they sell a Pro with XT clocks? Or is this a full XT with 16 pipes and XT clocks...
Just to be sure I asked a screenshot... but I wanted to ask here already... :)

Even though a saw my first sub $300 6800GT PCI-E I would have to go with the X800 XL at Monarch for $250 as my choice between the two cards as this moment. (http://www.monarchcomputer.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=M&Product_Code=190527) Huge bang for buck on that card right now.

I would do the X800 XT. The X800 XL is an amazing card too. It has to be the best performance to $ ratio out there.

I think the X800XL is a much better choice for the budget idea.
But if you have the money, go X800XT then.

X800XL is definety the best bang for the buck.
How much better will 2xBFG 6800GT OCs be than a X800XT?
