I picked up a Prometeia Mach 1 for free it had a leak in the hose and it had to be repaired. Well I got the hose repaired and had the unit regassed by a local AC place. I want to test out the unit but I need a new CPU Mounting Kit. Before I go and drop a $100 on a mounting kit I'd like to test it out and see if it is cooling properly. I've hotwired it to a small psu and it powers up fine and gets down to -40 with no heatsouce applied to it and it ran for 3 hours no problem. This may sound ghetto but then I placed a hair dryer on high right onto the evaporator head for about an hour and the temp never went about -37 what would be the best way to test this as I know this is no where near accurate. I want to slap this on a A64 3500+ CPU which will do 2.85 on air but not any further. Anyone know of anyway to test it out or do I just take my chances and buy the easy mod kit?
On a side note does anyone know if the Mach 1's play well with the MSI NEO2 socket 939 board? I know Mach 1's don't work properly with newer Intel boards and you have to use a 2nd PSU to get them to work right. Any and all info would be greatly appreciated.
