"Our friends Hilbert from Guru3D and legendary Unwinder discovered a certain "issue" with the G70. When you run a 3D app, GPU clock will raise from default’s 430 to 468 MHz, while RAM clock will remain the same. This "feature" is currently named "Geometry Clock Delta", and has something to do with the complex pipeline nV pulled out with G70

"Green Goblin spinners responded with an quick update, but we have yet to see that "update" applied to retail boxes of manufacturers who claim their product work at 470 MHz (hiding that under "Geometric Clock Delta"), which puts true overclocking manufacturers in awkward position (BFG OC Series, Gainward Golden Sample)."

What's this all about? Can anyone else confirm this information? Does this mean the clockspeeds of the 7800GTX are going to be relabeled?

Ugh, this brings up so many questions....

Yes, my Asus has +40mhz on the core in 3D applications.

that would explain 3dmark 05 reporting 40mhz higher clockspeeds then what is set

I want to run a benchmark at the the speed I set it at :fact:

Who uses overdrive on ATI card when overclocking and running benches? Nobody does, so you should be able to disable this feature.

LOL and I wonder why nvidia has advertized to everyone the 430 clock. They would have sold alot more if they said 470 from the get go!
