but had to pay for it :D

http://users.pandora.be/gamer/7800GTX/7800.1.jpg
Aopen 7800GTX (but reference, so who cares).

I'm expecting an FX-57 on friday, so got some time to get used to these baby's :)
It's been a while since I used Nvidia based cards, so be patient with an old man...

going for the hall of fame, got an old prometeia to cool the FX and 2 watercooling units (MCW50 and DD maze 4-1 (need to undo the pelt)) to cool the cards.

OPP, watch out :stick: :D

Very nice! Too bad though, this time next year they will probably be worth half as much :(

Gamer
07-05-2005, 10:26 AM
maybe less, although I sold my X800XT PE for € 360 when I bought it for € 480 7 months ago.
good deal if you ask me (still a good card).

yeah maybe next year will cost half but then next year you will have a three times faster card so you have to spend you money in that xD

you had to pay for it? why didn't you just pick them up off the ground and take them?

:)

have you gotten them set up yet?

can't get that SLI to work :(

cards are installed, driver installed, bridge installed, paddle card in SLI function,....
what is wrong here ?

is it maybe because my PSU is only 20 pins ? (can't be).

check each cards bios.. then install the same one on both, you should
know how to do it

Gamer

bios on both cards are the same.
booted with only one card, and it's still on 8x with the paddle card on 16x mode.
maybe there's the problem ?

Gamer

card in slot 2 is making a lot of noise, fan is spinning harder then the one in slot 1.
prob stays when I switch the cards.

make sure that your motherboard is set for SLI mode. some motherboard manufacturers require adjusting to run in SLI mode. both 6-pin power connectors are connected to the geforce 7800 gtx? install latest bios, motherboard chipset drivers, and forcewares.

found the problem, the paddle card wasn't properly installed (although I did it several times).
works fine now.
thx for the help.

keep in mind, this is on a half year old installation, didn't do a fresh install.

though ATi and Nvidia drivers would :stick: but no way....

The game is built for Nvidia. So if you have nvidia cards (aka FX 5900 (I don't believe it either) or the 6600/6800 series of cards, or in this case the 7800 GTX) it's gonna look very sweet. BF2 looks very tight on my 6800 GT.
