I've got a Northwood 3 GHz P4. SL6WU. I can get 3,7 GHz @ Air, not complete stable. Same with water cooling. Anything higher and computer crashes and won't boot.
Any chance dryice will help her going to 4,2+ GHz?

How much vcore can I give to her?

imo you should very well be able to if you crank up the voltage high enough! maybe it is another component of your system that is hindering your overclock. memory or motherboard perhaps? tried raising the voltage on those yet?

Yeah it all depends on what mobo you have.

keep voltage less than 1.7V to avoid S.N.D.S

Other Specs:
Gigabyte GA-8IK110 rev2 > Northbridge vmodded
2x Corsair XMS3200C2PT (TCCD or TCC5)
Antec TrueBlue 480 watt

It isn't the memory that holds me down, even with a divider, still not a single MHz higher. Voltages are also stable. Motherbord Northbridge is vmodded, because I thought that was the cause of my oc probs ;) So that's the reason why I say it's my processor. Or could it be some other thing? I've tried oc-ing till 1,625 vcore.

I don't know about anyone else. However, when it comes to overclocking, I don't have any lucks with gigabyte board.

i dont think that the mobo is really holding you back.
The 3.0c tend to top out 3.7 ish.
and only really reach higher speeds with - cooling.

yes you will.

With a LS i goot the SL6Wu to 4.4 ghz on a ic7-g

dont go above 1.65 Vcore with wather coling. you will kill the chips/damage it
