I was surfing for prizes on the x800 xt and found this "cheap one" in denmark, But then i saw the pipes, it said 12, WHAT, they are selling a x800 xt with 12 pipes when it should be 16, i'm confused or maybe MSI are.
Link to MSI's x800 xt card, look at the first line.http://www.msi.com.tw/program/products/vga/vga/pro_vga_detail.php?UID=666
Someone got a comment on this , i'm confused

The datasheet is right, they probably cut and paste from their X800Pro write up. OPP has (had?) an MSI X800XT that was most definitely 16 pipes.

That datasheet is my personal god. :D
But anyway, i have written an email to MSI, asking for an answer regarding the pipes. And my first thought was as your's, that's a x800pro but the clocks are x800 xt, so go figure.

That's what the thread is about, MSI selling a x800xt with 12 pipes, when it shouldn't exist.
As i wrote in the mail to MSI "how can you sell a x800xt with 12 pipes when it should have had 16, and the only 12 pipe cards around is the x800, x800pro and the x850pro.

I have been mailed back, and it comes with "only" 12 pipes. WHAAAAAAT
I'm not finish with the mailing exchange, course i want some explenation from MSI.
So MSI are selling a x800xt with only 12 pipelines. I for one will in the future watch very carefully, cause the rules are being bended.

Warning.
Dont buy the card, i have been confirmed, that it only comes with 12 from MSI.
The specefications are as a x800 xt should be , but something somehow went wrong in the production, they closed 4 pipes on this one which is really not making them look good.
What makes me mad, is that the "average user" never would notice this, and "he" could for the same money get a 16 pipe card.
God i'm mad.

Please ask if the box is clearly marked that it is a 12 pipelines card
Thank you

Dear xxx,
For MSI RX800XT-VTD256, it is the standard 16 pixel pipelines card.
Sorry for our website make the mistake.
And now, they've corrected it.
Please check it again from our website: http://www.msi.com.tw/program/products/vga/vga/pro_vga_detail.php?UID=666
Thank you for your information.

After several mails, it's now finished.
They were confused, and not me.
I can see others has been doing some work here.
The final letter i got , stated that they were incorrect, and their site information will be changed. So it should now say 16 pipes, not 12 like the x800Pro.
The boxes will be corrected, they were incorrect too.
So if you find a box with a MSI X800xt saying 12 pipes(which you will) this is incorrect, it has 16 pipes.
I have called the danish shops, and they were ofcourse happy that it turned out that MSI did follow the reference.
So, end of story.

Of course nothing happent, but as time went by, i found my self worried that maybe, just maybe, they'll send a beat up team to break my " little to curius nose" "the intel way" :slapass: :( :D
