Currently I have this mainboard from soltek
http://www.soltek.de/soltek/product/products_all.php?isbn_st=SL-865PE-775G .
After some correspondense with Soltek, Soltek informed me that they will not issue a bios upgrade to support the 64 bit series!
So I was looking to a new mainboard able to host my few weeks old X800Pro and my current 775 cpu. http://www.dfi.com.tw/Product/xx_product_spec_details_r_us.jsp?PRODUCT_ID=3245&CATEGORY_TYPE=MB&SITE=US
I want the DFI mainboard so as to be able to upgrade to the new intel 600 series CPus when the time is right. I was thinking of buying this main board after reading some good reviews. Please tell me if you have experience with this mainboard and will it be of some future proof for my current to host my current and future Cpus.

I have one They max OC is about 260-270 FSB 1:1. That seems tobe the norm.
I like it but for the 184.00 bucks(Last month) I paid for it I would not buy another.
AG over @ DFI street is going to Be testing a 64 bit 600 series in his 875P-t, I would wait and see what he comes up with.
I have been using a 630.

but on the website, DFI have issued a bios for the EN64T CPU series and the 3.7 Ghz model , so i think that with a flash this main board can be compatible with the 600 Series CPU, if the bios posted within there website is correct! (Hope SO)

Yes, flashing up to the most current BIOS will let you run a 6xx proc. But you have to flash up to it before you put the 6xx proc in. I have a 6xx proc ordered and arriving Wed. The 270fsb oc limit commented on above is not necessarily accurate. I can run my 530J proc at 281fsb. The issue seems to be more one of selecting the right mem. Peeps are not having partricularly good luck with T.C.C.D. mem. And yes a couple of ppl have sucessfully loaded the Win64 beta and run it with the 6xx proc.

DFI's 875P motherboard is ridiculously expensive and when it comes to Intel motherboards, DFI is in my book is one of the worst, I'd take an ECS or BIOSTAR over a DFI any day.
Future proof, certainly the 875P LGA 775 is not the way to go, if you want a kickass motherboard that has the latest and it's way better than the DFI, the ASUS P5LD2 Deluxe Socket T (LGA 775) Intel 945P ATX Intel Motherboard (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813131539) is the way to go because it supports every Intel CPU currently on the market as of today. It's PCI-Ex16, but you can always sell your AGP X800Pro on eBay and buy a PCI-Ex16 video card, the same goes for the DDR RAM.
I'm about to put on eBAy my Intel D865PERLK mobo, 3.0C P4 S478 stepping D, Corsair VS DDR400 and AGP GeForce 6800, this here is what it looks like: PIC (http://home.comcast.net/~dvrh10/S478.JPG).
Remember: ASUS P5LD2 Deluxe Socket T (LGA 775) Intel 945P ATX Intel Motherboard (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813131539).
p.s. DFI's page stating the 865PE would support Dual Core, guess what, it changed in no time and now, it's a safe bet to say they're screwing around and their sucky support makes me not ever wanting to buy a DFI mobo nor consider it. ASUS or ABIT definitely have the latest and most accurate suport for the Intel base core logic motherboards. :woot:

hey BigStan are those OCZ Platiums the TCC5? I am interested in your results with 600 series Proc to see if you can break 270 stable.
I am in the Process of rebuilding the 875P-T system from scratch.

I'm getting a 640. With the 16multi a 270fsb would be an OC to 4.3. That would be a pretty awesome OC to achieve. I'll let you know.

Stan, let us know how that 640 does, Light and I both hit max at 272 and more than 1.65Vcore.I can run 275 and 1.7Vcore but it starts to throttle and I dont like to run dual prime at that temp for more than an hour.I am stable to 285 with the 5/4 divider , 560j and 3200 gold so its the cpu or cooling holding me back.

it's your cooling for sure (even your dual XP120...)

Currently I have a 540 installed and so I will be able to flash this mainboard. I know I can sell my card X800 Pro, but as I said its only very few months old and I don't really want to loose loads of money. I am quite happy with the current architecture therefore I will stick to AGP and then when the times come move on to PCI express!
