Alright well ive been waiting till the R520 cores to come out to upgrade my current videocard which is a 9600se so my question is should i wait till they are realsed or should i buy this Dell ATI X800XT AIW (http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?sku=A0418047&cs=04&c=us&l=en) the total cost of card would be $314.58 after rebate. Seems like ATI is dropping price due to Nvidia having the better cards for your buck also the 7800gtx doing so good in sales. I might be getting a new comp in 6-12 months if AMD puts out a 5000+ or there is an AMD cpu that can hit 20-22secs 1M Super PI on air. So would it be better to hold off and save money to get a new comp considering i usally upgrade my comp as soon as my specs are 1/2 of what the new stuff performance is at which shouldnt be to long.

PS Is the X800XT AIW a good OCer?

My Current Setup
AMD 2600+m @ 2.4 12x200
Abit AN7 tictac/enduracell 1.8 1T
Corsair XMS Pro DDR400
ATI 9600 SE = Sh*tty Edition
450 watt Antec Powersupply

my x800xt aiw clock pretty ok on stock cooling. i get 545/565 without any problems.... no mods on it. the aiw cards are pretty awsome really. they come with a slew of goodies.

Looking at the Prices of Nvidia im thinking of switching ships now for a lil bit. What iam going to do is get a 6600gt for now and when i get new comp then i might go back to Ati if there new cores come out swinging:slap: but for now ill go the with the jedi. :lsfight:

thats a terriable overclock, especially on the ram. isnt stock 520/560? Youd need a pci-e slot and a faster cpu anyway. I would upgrade that 9600se to a 9600xt or better yet a 9700(pro)for now and when you get a new cpu, also get a x900

stock clocks are 500/500. my dothan can go 2.55ghz on the stock cooler and get 32300 in 2k1. i just like the 2.39 score  the fastest x800xt under 2.4ghz. and 3rd over all under 2.4 :fact:

you are a noob. why would he go from a 9600se to xt? its a waste of cash.

that being said, dude your better off holding out for a few months if you can, if not look at 6600gt's or 6800's.

So is the R520 coming out soon because i heard the release date was delayed which the paper one was supposed to be at the end of the month, but sense Nvidia Launched card on same day ATI wants to do the same thing also will they just be releasing X900xt or will the also have the X900pro and X900 out on shelves too.

PS I can wait 2-3 months.

its a near guarantee ati will have new cards on shelves within 2-3 months. They were going to paper launch late july, so they will likely truly launch very late july to mid aug somewhere
