Had a 6800 AGP8x before, got about 7800 score in 3DMark2003.
Got a 6600GT PCIe on a new board with AMD64 3000+. Got about 7900 score.

Now here's the problem: I got a second 6600GT and installed it and the SLI thing came up and I enabled it. Jumpers were switched, all that jazz. Everything seems to show I'm running SLI, but I STILL only get 7900 score in 3DMark2003. Waddup? Standard 3dMark settings. I upped it to 1600x1200, but got like 3000 score, heh. I read someplace that at 1024x768 I'll see NO improvement with SLI, is that true?

Anyhow, any tips on what I might be missing cuz I payed $150 for the second card, so it would SEEM that I would see *some* improvement, even a little??? :) THanks!

Athlon64 3000+ (Venice?)
Dual MSI 6600GT in SLI
LanParty NF4 SLI-D mobo

1Gig RAM

Is it possible the BIOS may be different on the two cards? Could I get SLI enabled with different BIOS versions, yet because they're different, it doesn't "work"? Hmm, I read some old BIOS on the lanparty was faulty too, maybe I should upgrade it all...

did you install the SLI bridge? If it's installed correctly, of COURSE you'll see a huge improvement in score!!

I have had that happen with an older install of windows. No matter what I did SLI would enable in the driver tab but my score was the same with one card or two. Try and check the box in the SLI tab that says show split frame rendering, or something like that, it is the only other check box in that screen except for the enable SLI box. If you dont see a green bar and graph when you run a benchmark then your sli is not working. I had to reinstall windows to get it to work. You should see at minimum about a 50% improvment with SLI turned on.

I dont think a 6800(gt) and 6600gt can work together. Also try overclocking your cpu, this should help

Did you use that SLI app to set it up? IIRC each application needs to be configured manually, but there is an application that you can point to EXEs and it will automatically do the stuff for you.

hmmm, show me a mobo with both an AGP and a PCI-E slot. Also, he has 2 PCI-E 6600GT cards.

still wrong :)

he got a 6800 vanilla that did 7800... that would be AWFUL for a gt

the 6800 was on an agp board, then when he went to pci-e he got a 6600gt which got 7900 and got a second 6600gt and still got the same score

I don't really know what the problem is as I haven't had any experience with SLI
