Hi guys, i have a Asus 6200GE (gamer edition) here to play with :)
Its a nice card, its allowed me to run 8x1,3vp ( default 4x1,3) and I flashed a modified timings (home brewed :P ) asus 6600 bios in it.
The card is still @stock cooling, only a 12cm fan blowing over it.
Also no volt mods yet (but please help me with those see this thread http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=67405 ).
Cpu is prom cooled and running 3190mhz and the memory 166 divider (will do some higher runs on the cpu/mem ;) )
The only thing is I am running the 80.40 drivers, which are currently NOT FM approved. Will do some runs with the 77.xx drivers (anyone knows wich version is best for 03? )
I have got a 8763 score, but did not save that one (did not realise that i got the WR on that run :p: ) but the WR will come to me.
Btw I just saw i am 2 points short for the wr 8753 (from the ebola dude) vs 8752 (from me)
Anyone knows why my GT1 is sow high vs him?

The rest seems quite good to me.

So I will be back soon and hopefully with some nice score :slobber:

And its Good GPU clock for AGP 6200...
i could only do it Aproxlimtly 460mhz Stable... Without vmod and stock cooling...
Which bios did u use ? did you mod the bios for timings ?
By the way..... Did you try to İD mod ?

don't forget to push the PCI EX speed.
with the 6200, when I was playing with one for a few weeks I was benching at 140 mhz. it usually gave about 100 extra points on 3dmark2003 for me.

I had to work yesterday so unfortunately i didn't had any time to bench.
Today I will try those 75.90 drivers and push my AGP speed.
(this card is a pci expres 6200 core with an agp bridge attached on the card)
Hopefully today some nice scores will be seen :woot:
Thnx for the tips!
Btw: The device ID mod, I tried it, but it's not working actually for me?
I have done it like This (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showpost.php?p=931026&postcount=41) post says, but it's just not working for me :(

Same as mine. It has no difference in score too. The ID mod only works after BIOS flashing I think?

You can do it! :D

07-04-2005, 06:36 AM
yes it didnt work on me too.... :(
But i know something to mod it to 6600 or 6600GT or Quadro 540 :D
Check my Thread i moded to Quadro FX 540 and 16x aa become enabled :p:

Try this for İD mod... İts working ;) But i couldnt see any Plus Score :(
1-) First Make İD mod from RivaTuner
2-) Restart
3-) İnstall Driver manualy ( Look At The Photos )

İ did Quadro FX 540 mod.... You could select 6600 or 6600GT ;)
But i couldnt see any Performance difrence on 3dmark...

when I was benchmarking with the 6200, I had a few secrets that helped me get some extra points.
when I was testing, I found that the 6800 Ultra driver, was the fastest driver to use for the 6200. of course, I just renamed the 6800 ultra driver, to a 6200, so it didn't look ridiculous on my 3dmark links.
the 6600GT driver was the fastest one for 3dmark2001se, when using DX8.1.
you can find my old guide on how to mod drivers, here...

Thanks for the tips @Kunaak
And do you have any ideas that why it didnt give me any Points on 3dmark ?

Thnx Kunaak, I will try that too :P
Do you know what the best LOD is for a 6200?
I think its between 1.0 and 2.5, but dont know exactly, have to test that some more.
Kunaak
07-05-2005, 02:25 AM
the best LOD for me, was +3.6.
after 3.6, all scores seem to suffer.
I suspect, after 3.6, the pixel shaders are changed to 1 or something low.
so it looks like crap, but doesn't help scores.
But LOD does nothing for me, in 2003 or 2005, so I never use them there, cause it always lowers my GT1 score.

Ok i'm now trying +3.6, see if it does any good.
Btw do you have any more tricks for 3mark03? (i am already running services disabled, high performance driver settings, and 3dmark03.exe realtime)
Kunaak

do the ricky tweak, remember 2003 is a DX9 benchmark, so use the latest driver you can find. get all the bandwidth you can from your ram, cause it helps GT1 alot.
other then that, just don't give up ;)

try disabling stuff in the BIOS, like serial/parallel ports, floppy drives, network controller, firewire, IDE/SATA controller (whichever you don't use), IR ports, maybe even USB (again if your keyboard is serial say). Obviously only disable them if you dont need them, while you are benchmarking.

@El Snorro
what is the maximum speeds you can do on Forceware..
i can do like 475/685..
550/750 seemd to High for me with Stock cooling and whitout Vmod...
But maybe its couse of PCİ-e
Because @Brandybuck could do 580/700 with stock cooling and o vmod.. with sparkle 6200 pci-e
i did 480/820 from WinFox :D because it doesent tests the speeds....
i can bench at 468/780 on 2k5. ( With Artifacts :( )

Guys look at this
http://img264.imageshack.us/img264/952/dmodding9zv.jpg
İD mod is working...
İt still see's my card as 6200 but it gave me about nearly 200Points at 3dmark 2k3
So test it again... İt doesnt mater if it doesent see as 6600GT

Great bang for the buck those 6200. Any chances this MSI will unlock to 8x1?
http://www.msi.com.tw/images/product_img/vga_img/8981_NX6200-TD128E.jpg
It looks good to me, 128bit bus + 128mb, just wanted to check with the "experts" on the subject.
Thanks

why are you using a p3? Or does the orb not recognise P-M's correctly or something? Or are you really using a tualitin? Because that would explain why your GT1 is so low.
cmanisali2001
07-05-2005, 11:53 AM
well.... i couldn't by A NF4 :( thats why i am using a Tualatin :D
@Always
İ dont have any idea about that... i was thinking to buy Msi 6200 AGP ... it has 3.6ns hynix as same as leadtek A6200TD
MSİ just has beter ram Position.... İts seemd to me like Referance card...
İ would by leadtek A6200TD if i ware you ;)

cmanisali2001, does your leadtek have all those capacitors near the pci bracket? Seems to me that the msi, the asus GE and the leadtek have each 3 a different PCB design.
BTW, the unlockable ones had to be pci-e right?only early agp 6200 were ok. Please confirm this

This is my card...
if you have a PCİ-e slot...ofcorse buy a pci expres card ;)
By the time Be cearlful.. Buy A2 series.... i heard that A4 series can't onlock :stick:

see all the large cylinder shaped things? Those are capacitors. They basically store and moderate voltage (i think).

07-05-2005, 12:23 PM
ooooww... arent the Condansator ? We call them Kondansator in turkey...
You say that capacitors..
they jarge energy Right ? Or make stable the Ac voltage Right?
is Kondansator and Capasitor same thing ?

Well guys, since i have my x800pro vivo in my rig currently (got my new waterblock and my new swiftech mcp 600 :toast: yesterday) I will not bench any 6200 today or tomorrow (got to work tomorrow) but on friday I will!
And also will try the 'not working, but actually working ;) device id mod.
Thnx for al the tips guys!
I hope I will get this WR
capacitors are the round high components on you pcb, in this case the black one's:)

hey guys !!!!
Try The SPARKLE 6600 ULTRA bios....
it gives Fantastic o/c capasity.
Def bios ( leadtek 6200 ) 480/695
SPARKLE 6600 Ultra bios 580/760
no vmod and stock cooling
CLİCK HİRE FOR THE SPARKLE 6600 ULRTA BİOS (http://www.mvktech.net/components/com_simpleboard/uploaded/files/sparkleultra.rom)

Seems that sparkle bios ups the voltage a bit, only way to explain that dramatic increase in overclock capacity.
