Hey guys, im trying to oc my san diego.. stepping is 0515 SPMW.. When i started oc'ing, i dropped my ram frequency to 166mhz, my HTT multiplier to 3X, cpu multiplier to 9x and i raised the HTT (FSB) bus to 230mhz...I disabled all the other stuff for now like speed spectrum, high performance, agressive timing, cool n quiet, etc...The reason why I disabled all these is to see how far I can push my HTT (FSB) ... i went from 200 to 210, to 230 and my vcore was 1.32V (stock is 1.4V), since everything was stable. At 230, i hit a wall.. i increase the vcore to 1.4, 1.5 and 1.52, but still my computer freezes on the MSI splash screen or i see a black screen with my mouse cursor. Im using a Thermalright XP-90C.... i see ppl with results that are waaaaaaaay better than mine.. On idle, my temps are ~36C and on load the highest is 49C... Anyone can help me figure out my problem? Im using OCZ DDR400 2 x 512MB REV 2.0 with OCZ Powerstream 520W.. Thanks for your help guys.,.

try increasing the chipset and HTT voltages by .1V.

well.. i can see that you're using an msi? :p:
if it's the k8n neo2, move your sata drives to ports 3+4, if you have more than two, tough cookies.

Oh, how does moving it to a different one help?

Sata ports 3 & 4 have locked pci freq.

and 1+2 don't, which means that as you bring up the htt/fsb clock, the sata ports are brought further and further out of spec, until the hard drives attacted to it can't take the speed anymore and 'fail'. mine WD hd's max out at 229mhz.
(all this is assuming you do indeed have the neo2, which you never verified  )

haha yes im using a msi neo 2 platinum.... thanks for all your reply guys.. i never knew that the sata 3 +4 were locked... so i moved my HD to SATA 4 and it works!! Im still testing my HTT at 290 right now using si sandra soft burn in test and so far it seems to be ok (i dont wanna jinx it though).. i loosened up all my ram timings now, and i set my ram frequency to 133.. If i put it to 133 how fast is my memory running? in my bios it says 200, 166, 133, 100... what are the actual dividers for that?? My temps on load is at 48C... on idle it is between 35C-40C... San diegos used a stock of 1.40V...in the bios i set the CPU VID to 1.40V, but when i use MBM, CPU-ID, or CoreCenter, i get a voltage of ~1.32V... How do i increase the chipset voltage btw?

If i put it to 133 how fast is my memory running?
depends on the cpu multi :D

hey guys, it turned out that the max speed for my 3700 SD (0515 SPMW) is 2700Mhz..The multiplier is 9x while the HTT is 300mhz.. or i can put 10x multiplier and HTT at 270Mhz. either way i cant get past 2.7ghz... For both cases, the vcore was at 1.450V.. i tried to up the vcore to the max that my mobo supports which is 1.55V and i still cant get past 2.7Ghz.... Btw, im using an XP-90C...
a) Anything i can do to pump it higher? I see ppl with 2.8-2.9..
b)If i cant get it past 2.7ghz, should i use 9 x 300 or 10 x 270 ??
c) Im gonna be putting my swiftech watercooler on it, how much faster can my cpu go?
thanks
