X2 + nVidia 80.40 = 20-30% boost in performance?

Nvidia stated that Release 80 should fully-enable performance boost on dual-core systems, such as the Pentium D and Athlon 64 X2. Ben de Waal, VP of GPU Software was especially proud of that supposed achievement - such as a 20-30% boost in performance from new drivers alone - of course, in certain apps.

Can someone with an X2 and an nVidia card try this out?

They are both 32-bit and 64-bit. The 64-bit SLI support is supposedly improved. Please try comparing the 32b 80.40's to earlier non-multithreaded drivers as well. Thanks!

If someone has a Nvidia card and X2, can you try to confirm if the driver has X2 mutil threaded support and post back?

I think these " leaked " drivers are a fake. Ive installed them twice on XP 64 Bit and they still keep coming up as 77.72s in my driver list. There was no difference between the officials i had installed and these 80.40's.. Hmmm. Anyone else try them?

Which source did you use for the drivers? 3dchipset? tweaksrus?

Also, can you try on 32-bit windows as well?

There's a lot of testing going on here, seem a bit faster with SC processors, doesn't look like anyone with an X2 has tested yet:

Proud owner of a X2 and 6800U, I'll try them but I don't expect too much...

Edit: As thought, nothing better. Maybe on a SLI setup..

I got mine at Tweakrus.. SLI Rig and X2. No difference in performance. Tried in both 32/64 bit windows. :slapass:
