I'll do it, would like to know where to measure vdimm, is the same point is circled(the bottom one)? I think it's the 3.3v line, and suppose won't be exactly the same voltage...

Please help mee :toast:

If that's the hot leg of the capacitor and the memory is getting fed by the 3.3 line then the mod should be fine.

You can solder a little wire to pin 7 from a memory slot to measure the voltage on the slot.

Yes, bottom point is positive leg from one cap, the upper point is 3,3v from 24pin psu, right now i'm ussing 20pin psu, assuming to using another 3,3v point won't be a problem, right? I own a 24pin psu but in other rig... Only wondering... :p:

Thanks! :toast:

BTW, how to solder a wire to pin 7 in the memory? :stick: I'll search for it...

Do you know if the memory is getting fed by the 5V rail or the 3.3 rail?

If it's getting fed by the 5V rail the mod will kill your board and possibly PSU. Connecting the 3.3 line to the mosfets output will make the 5V line try to feed the 3.3 line which will overpower the mosfet and burn it out in seconds. It could blow out the PSU because of the short too.

How can i know it? IMO it is getting fed by the 3,3v line, vdimm up to 2,9v makes me think it, the only mb's do that ( use 5v line for the vdimm ) i know is dfi, don't know if abit do that on AN8, assuming that use 5v line would be anything stupid counting on max vdimm available in this (p4gd1) is only 2,9v, perfectly could be given by the 3,3v line, right?

I've already done the mod, like the picture, don't using another 3,3v point, hope not to fry the mobo... :slap:

Well, done and running, UTT-CH @2-2-2 certify that ^^!

Don't know, but you could know it if the pcb is very similar to the p4gd1. Then it sould work...

Is there any other vdimm mod? I want one so I can regulate it myself not by using 3.3v line. :)

I don't know, maybe something like the P4C800 vmods, but have no idea about it on P4GD1.

What ram will you put on it? Did the one mod i did, right? I'd like to own a PStream or 3,3line variable... :D :p:

i've tried BH5 and MUSHKIN Redline XP4000... and amazingly the Redline is working up to about 230 at 3.2vdimm... surprising considering that it doesn't work AT ALL on i875P boards....

sounds good :D
^don.k's^ did u use a 24 pin psu after modding the board?
or does that mod work with 20pin psu too?

already modded my p4gpl-x (vchip+vdimm) but im afraid of burning the board :-/

Yes i use 24pin psu, i dont know if 20 pins psu will do ok, i think you would have to solder on a 3,3v point, coz in the picture i posted the 3,3v point isn't in a 20pins psu, dont know exactly tho.

It seems, i've killed one of my BH-5 with the 3.3-to-vdimm mod!
