Yeah it's a small accomplishment--I'm gonna go for #1 single 7800gtx in whatever mhz range I can when I hook up watercooling this afternoon.

*see attachment*

My goal preferablly is 30,000. The bench I did here was done @ 266 fsb (I can do 280-285 so that'll bump it up on round 2).

Also, with wc'ing I should be looking at around 2800-2900. This chip can do just about 2600 on air.

Anyway, really enjoying this combo and looking for higher and higher numbers. Next change I'm looking at will be a 4200+ X2. My proc and the lack of 1T seems to be my 2 major problems currently. But no worries :D

Very nice man!

Welcome back man!! I didnt notice you were back yet:) Very happy to see you

Hehe thanks--btw on a note about the watercooling setup. I stole the airconditioning from my bathroom (about 85% of it) and routed it to my room--made a vent.

In any case I'm hooking up a lytron radiator to the vent w/ 2 metallic 120mm BMF fans. Temps coming from vent is about 6 to 10C. I should be getting some REAL nice temps lol.

You have any plans for getting into heavy phase change? Like cascade or at least a single stage?

Working on a gnarly chiller but currently (and what I just spent a couple hours doing) was setting up my water setup in my room.

It's loud, it's big, it's cool :) I like it. Will take pics later.. my resivoire is disgustingly big but it's all I have heh.

Ya see, when you crop a screenshot.....

Getting back on track. Beat my other score by quite a bit with watercooling on the proc, new chipset and video drivers.

Old: 26696
New: 29133

Improved score on ever bench.

And AMD-me, if you're beating me I'm guessing it's on everything except nature. Your lil x700pro isn't going to pull 372fps in it.

What is slowing me down is my processor and lack of 1T. Asus needs to get their act together and I need to get a A64X2 together.

get another 7800gtx man, forget about A64 X2 if you want higher insane 3d scores.

just use your current cpu/ram setup it's good enough for 30k.

Oh I deff will be getting a 2nd, but I'm more interested in upping my CPU power. It's currently my bottleneck. Just gotta make that money :)

Welp, I think I gotchya beat....on stock cooling for both my 4400+ and my 7800GTX.

30k first OCd run, RAM is being finicky though, gotta tinker to get it to where I want it (at 258 3-3-3-8 1T right now--not ideal). 496/1420 were my 7800GTX clocks (any higher and RivaTuner gets mad). Run on XP, no tweaks (not even realtime tweak or explorer shut down).

Well, I won't be sending my asus back. I know I could probably do better w/ the DFI but I'm an avid Asus fan and I'll await a patch.

Oh and btw, It's ON!!!!! I get my 4400X2 on Monday/Teus/Whenever Fedex shows up and I'll work on reclaiming it lol

Jason didn't want to mess around, did he? IDK if I can catch that with my 2x1GB, might have to get some cheapo UTT and hope they work at 259 2-2-2-x.

I'll see what I can do, but this card won't go over 496/1425 for anything (no artifacts though, just RivaTuner and coolbits being :banana::banana::banana::banana:y) on stock cooling.

I'll see what I can pull outta my ass in the meantime.

Hey sysfailur, you didn't happen to use LOD did you? Your nature is KILLING mine (by 90+ fps!)!

Here's what I mean:
http://img57.imageshack.us/img57/757/lownature301702so.jpg

Jason's is much more inline with mine but still 60FPS lower than yours....how'd you get it that high (unless, did you get your second 7800 already?)???

Also vapor just noticed you also ahve the 4400+, so this gives me an idea of what kinda #'s I'll be getting.

Can your proc go higher? Or are you just keeping it here to compete for the <2600 ?

And if it can go higher, what can you get.. and what cooling? Unfortunately my chip won't be here till Teusday.

Vapor

I never tried maxing out my CPU, but my RAM maxed out at around 260, so I just used the 10x multi as it was convenient for this category. I know it can go higher, but I don't know how much.

This was all on stock cooling, no case, no airflow (<---dumb). I have a feeling that just under 2700 is the max for stock air or so. My 4400+ worked at 1.3v right out of the box, not sure if that's low or normal though, it just surprised me.

I have a 90% complete watercooling setup here, just missing my rad right now, will update on how that goes on Tuesday or Wednesday. I have a theory that due to the amount of heat that these things can put out per clock that WC will be more beneficial than it is with single core CPUs.

Also, how is my DL so much higher than yours? I don't know 01 THAT well, but it seems I'm 25% higher than you at about the same CPU and GPU clocks, just I didn't tweak anything....seems weird to me.

On the drag low.. ya know I'm not sure. Maybe all the cache helps? *shrug* I do not know. You've got 4x the cache of me hehe. Time will tell when I get my proc and test it out.

EDIT: Also, thanks for the info. I am very anxious to see my results.

NEED MORE VOLTAGE!

Note the voltage... 1.472 -- that is with 1.550 in the BIOS! This chip eats voltage for breakfast w/ the dual coreage. I'm looking for a variable voltage mod for the a8n-sli if anyone can find me one. I have only found one, and I don't like the way it works. Looks like it hard-caps it at 1.65 (which would actualy put out like 1.55 for me). I'd like an adjustable one w/ more voltage if anyone knows of one please do enlighten me.

Temps are cake w/ .09 it seems.. even with dual core I'm getting 5-7C lower temps on my wc'ing than my 3500+ .13

Anyway... I'm capping here unless I get more volts. 3D comes next :D

Testing sandra next, then pifast, then 3dm01 and 05 :D

sysfailur

Vapor I just did the <2600 because that's as high as I could go, and oddly enough I was #1. I'm not really pushing to get #1 back or anything. I got my 2nd video card today, I've got my 4400+.. I'm gonna push em to the max :P

And as for stock cooling are you kidding? lol I just went straight to the water--I was too excited.

And Igor, I personally can't say if it's good or not but I think you can rest assured most 7800GTX are going to clock nicely no matter where they come from. They all seem to have around the same potential.
