Hi there,

I have got Leadtek 7800gtx x 2 in SLI

I installed them with the 77.72 new forceware and coolbits 2.0

I went to the overclock screen......when i clicked detect optimal settings it simply stayed on the defaults....

I tried to manually overclock, but when new settings were tested they always failed so could not be applied!! even an overclock of 1mhz!!

I disabled SLI and just worked on one card. In this instance overclocking worked fine the card worked happily artefact free @500/1300, so i accepted the settings and returned to SLI hoping the clock speeds would have been kept........

however from the benchies it was obvious that the SLI was not working. Removing the overclock restored SLI.

All this seemed very strange???? I checked the release notes and sure enough this is a known issue :(

How is everyone managing to overclock the 77.72 then??? Neither rivatuner or powerstrip support the 7800gtx yet.

Many thanks for any advice.

Try both cards one at a time to make sure they are working.

i think this is the driver problem, because there is no problem if i run the card one by one.

btw, i'll try the Rivatuner 15.6 :)

I have now tried winfox 2.0 and powerstrip...

any attempts at overclocking above the defaults simply results in the drivers appearing to disable SLI.....

So my score goes down!!

How is everyone else managing to overclock their SLI with 77.72 or is this just a Leadtek problem????

:( :( :( :(

There is some kind of bug with the SLI overclocking on the 7800GTX. When I first enabled SLI and ran 3D05 my score was exactly the same as I got with one card. I had seen that problem before so I loaded up a fresh install of XP sp1 and DX 9.0c and then my SLI started working. But when I tried to do any kind of over clocking, even 1 mhz the test would not pass and it would default to 275 on the gpu instead of 460 on the BFG card. I already know both cards will overclock to 500/1380 with no problems but they wont go any higher in SLI than what the original driver lets them. I hope this gets sorted out. I am going to try riva tuner next and see what happens.
