Nice mounting RON :toast:
Good luck with your benching.
Yeah, that mounting system you have there is a thing of beauty! (oh, and nice results too! ;))

good job...
And about the Dothan's "overclockability"... I'm convinced that "most" 730/740/750/760 REALLY aren't that great of OC'er... pretty much ALL of them go 2700-2800mHZ on AIR, and 3000-3200mHz on phase change or DI...
kingpin and others have them up north of 3400mHz, but that's with LN2 and 770-780's...

Awesome X800 Pro score, always nice to see someone else playing with my favorite GPU.
I think most of them do between 2.5 and 2.7...I don't know how several people have gotten lucky with such ridiculously clocking ones. I've got 3 here, one barely made it to 2.7 GHz, the other 2.6, the other 2.5...the 2.5 gig one is a 740 the others are 730's, and Ricky's 760 makes it to only 2650 as well...the majority of these are pieces of crap.

yeah, that's what I mean... mine does 2.7+ on stock cooler, 2.8 on a Zalman and 1.55v... and 3.1 on -65C autocascade. With FX-57 doing EASY 3.6gHz on phase change, that tilts the edge back toward FX....

Just compared your score to my 38K s754 score, interesting to see where the give-and-take is :)
The way that card is vmodded reminds me of Jason's work ;)
Btw, good to see you benching again!

Thank you sir. :D
It may remind you of Jason's work but it's Ron's work. I do all my own voltmods. Sometimes I wished I had let someone else do them for me. :p:

This is more than 50% the past oc champions used to do (mendo 300, cumine 700, p4 1.60A & 2.40A), if Charlie is right we talking about ~70% with on air with a ridicolous heatsink and sub 50 wattage.
:slobber:
Am I wrong or this Is this the best overclockable CPU ever made?

My 3DMark03 score (http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k3=4081846)
Max clocks on my 750 put my fsb just a little too high for my ram @ 1/1. :( I have a 740 that will allow me to run my fsb higher. Hopefully I can raise my scores a little more. :)

Congrats on #1 X800 Pro score in 3DMark03! :toast:
That being said, I think those clocks (both CPU and GPU) are on the low side for dual -100C cooling. 2976mhz on Dothan is pretty low, like wise 710mhz core on the X800 Pro (though I guess the Pro's won't clock as well as the XT's).
Good score though anyways

some pretty nice scores :toast:
about the same as what we got with a slightly higher dothan and x800pro vivo 16p :stick:
lower clocks on our card though

I dunno on a 730, a close to or even a 1ghz oc on air is nice in any application of cpu. I fail to see the complaint  And um how much does the FX-57 cost vs how much the pentium m costs...

What are the highest clocks and volts you have seen on the X800Pro?
I am running at 1.9v core and 2.2v VDDQ & VDDR. Do you have any suggestion? :)

You know, I don't suppose I've seen too many people xtreme-clocking the regular X800 Pro's....
I remember when Macci and some of the other top benchers were using X800 Pro ViVo's (the ones that modded to 16 pipes), the best cards were playing in the 800mhz core range.
The mem on your card is doing nice :) But it just "seems" to me like 710-730mhz core with 1.9v at -100C, isn't the luckiest card out there :D Maybe I am mistaken and the plain X800 Pro's don't clock super high :slap: :toast:

Actually, many of the X800 Pro's are very very nice overclockers, better than many XT PE's. My Pro did 670MHz on air for 3DMark2001 and 660 for everything else. It hates voltage though, begins having issues past 1.6v. Theoretically, they should clock better since they've got less pipes. It's a good 15MHz faster than my XT PE, which I guess isn't a wonderful clocker. I can say one thing for sure though, the Pro lost 20MHz going from A64 to Dothan. Several others observed this too. Dunno why it happens, the Dothans are supposed to draw a lot less power.

Very trick runmc :)
I'm thinking about slapping a TEC on my 740, as from what charlie said going realy cold gives little advantage.
Awsome X800 btw :)

LOL :p:
That's exactly what I was thinking last night . :woot: I just couldn't make it happen. There is more to be had though. Maybe different drivers, fresh format, and Ricky's tweak will help.
Have you got any suggestions for drivers?
Did you end up with a LN2 container? :)

You need to get onto win 2K with SP4 and DX8.1

Real nice job ron....don't give up on these ever. There is almost always more in these chips, you just have to find it. :toast: I bet you will be at 3300mhz on your cascade soon. Watch your droop and monitor the vcore at the mosfets or coils around cpu while under load. Also, not sure if you vagp modded the board, but that helped me alot with 1:1 clocking from 263ish to 274 or so.
For 03, use winxp, dx9c, and the newest ati drivers with 3.4cp and don't use the mps tweak(caused me grief in XP and more trouble than it was worth.. For 01', use win2k,dx8.1, cat 4.12/3.4cp, and mps multi tweak(f-5 best way)

:D
Vince has got ya covered as far as drivers go :) For 2001, Win2K(MPS Uni-proc)/DX8.1/4.12+3.4cp is the way to go.
Also, you may want to download ATiTool and try the timings posted in the stickied thread by Eshbach in 3D Forum here, about GPU mem timings. You will most likely take a hit when you tighten up the latencies, but it's up to you to test and see if the performance gain is worth the Mhz loss. For my X800XTPE it definately was :)
I know you can squeeze the big 40 :woot:
Did you end up with a LN2 container? :)
Yep, I have one of Chilly1's :yepp: I've had it for quite a while now. Though I am only able to get dry ice ATM, LN2 is scarce as hen's teeth out here :D
I wish I could try one of Jason's units, they look pimp. But unless he wants to send me one for "testing purposes", I can't afford one right now :D
Keep on running :toast:
