Dual core is not supported and it doesnt even show HT. My 2K4 scored under 5k at 3.5Ghz

CPU Z reads memory speed incorrectly, I am running at 666Mhz 3-2-2-2 1T, since the dual core ee is useless on the P5ND2 I switched over to the 570J to test the SLI at stock

Both were run at stock CPU and stock VC.
Now to crank it up a few notches with the 3.73EE and phase change.

Doesn't even support dual core? Shame on nVidia

What bios are you using with it fugger? I thought it did support dual core because there were review web-sites benching the 840 in it.
This board sucks from my point of view and it needs a good bios to get it working like it should. Please post more.

Im saving myself some abuse by not posting bandwidth screen shots yet. At least till I found max FSB 1:1

Why don't you test the ASUS P5WD2 Premium with SLI. The support of SLI is unofficial with this mobo, but it has the SLI connector in the bundle.

Is this with the 0708 BIOS?

Fugger, I know exactly what you mean by the max 1:1. With any bios Im struggling to even overclock 1:1 with my memory at any timings. The best I can do is get 600mhz (quad pumped) on the memory at 3-2-2-8 at the rated 2.1v. This board will not go 1:2 or even 1:1 overclocked. It is a crappy motherboard and needs a bios that is good.
You can go 1:1 stock but I have found only with the timings on auto not at stock settings.

Man that just put the asus off my list.
I think I will wait until the chipset matrues on intel(I hope so).
Thanks for the updates fugger, really appreciate it.
Well, it will be good to see how the scores are oc.

of course. Asus meant to make the 955x version better. Just look at the NB heatsink, the 4-phase cpu power regulation(this asus nvidia has only 3-phase) and the general layout

If DFI comes out with a good intel LGA775 board with SLI :slobber:

I dont think that the P5WD2 can run in SLI. I was under the impression that the 955X was not SLI capable.(If PCI-E goes through northbridge like AGP used to). One thing to take into consideration is that the PCI-E 16x slot only works at 4x, half of what normal SLI is run at.

Several bad starts this morning, I could not get the mobo to fire up at -120c. I tried to loosen contact to the CPU and that did not correct the problem.
I will reinstall on the vapo to see if it is cold related or contact pressure on the socket like early ABit 775 boards.
Now that I know what I am doing to get SLI running I will try again today to get the P5AD2 running SLI. It did come with the SLI bridge.

The bandwith that PCI-E 4x is capable will satisfy any card on the market so I don't think that it will be a bottleneck. The other question is why ASUS bundled the mobo with SLI conector if the users can not use it ... I think that SLI on this mobo is possible, and ASUS tested it, and that's why they bundled the mobo with SLI conector.

Fugger, any progress gained by trying to use the p5nd2-sli overclocked and with a 3:4 divider or at least 1:1 divider?

I cannot overclock AT ALL with this board. Fugger...
I also have a P4 570J ES, and with each and every bios release (0705, 0707 , 0708) I cannot overclock one single mhz. Windows simply does not read it! Im sure you're having this problem too, whats causing this? No matter what my OC is, ive tried everything, windows does not detect the OC, but the BIOS DOES.
Is the memory on this board QUAD pumped? wtf is that? I thought it was DDR (Dual)? My CPU-Z says my 533 DDR2 is at 133mhz aswell, whats going on with this?
Any fixes, beta bioses, etc, that fix all this?
Mesce

0705 works in windows that is what Im using right now. The memory in the bios is the quad pumped version.
Intel processors are quad pumped to get their 800fsb, the memory in the bios is using the same thing maybe so that it is easier to overclock, or some other wacky reason.
All I know it is a crap board because it doesnt overclock and when it does the memory craps out.

Well im ok with 3.8ghz stock i guess, but thats not the XS way now is it ;)
Does 0705 work for everyone? Or is it just mixed results? I dont plan to do over 250fsb anyway, do you forsee any problems?

yes I am able to overclock on my board, I bumped my 840 EE dual core to 3.5Ghz in the top link in this thread.
I have yet to test 1:1 on phase change where I can hit 350+ FSB

Downloaded and flashed to the 0801 BIOS. OCing still a no go!
Those are the same fixes they had posted for their 0708 BIOS.

The 0705 bios works for everyone and Im coasting at 4.3ghz with it. Temps are great at 43 load but the northbridge is one hot mofo, I hate fanless designs. I have set my memory to 600mhz running at 3-2-2-8 and at 4.3ghz on the cpu. There is a big divider but it is the only way I can have memory at 3-2-2-8 and a 4.3ghz clock because 1:1 doesnt work overclocked well for me at all.
no 1-1 works?
wich fsb you've take?

The problems were the same as we have now minus the overclocking.
You cant run 1:1 overclocked very far, you cant run 2:3 no matter what. Thats about it.
Ontop of the problems you have now minus the overclocking

yes definitely go for it, its worth having a bit of an overclock rather than no overclock. What timings do you get on your geil? You want to set your memory at 600mhz (in bios) and your lowest rated timings and 2.1v.

Well this ram is rated @ 533 12-4-4-4 and @ 400 9-3-3-3 with 12-3-3-4 I can go up to 560 and 12-4-4-4 does up to 575 i believe, im gonna test it out now.
EDIT: I just flashed back to the 0705 BIOS and my comp wont get into windows, it hangs after the windows loading screen. And i dont have a floppy drive to flash back, i used the windows-based flashing utility, and it doesnt work in safe mode (where i am now), so im screwed for a little while until i figure something out...
EDIT2: Flashed back to 0801 while i had 15 seconds to spair in windows before it locked up, all is fine now. IM never using 0705 again hehe, ill wait till asus has a bios that works later on.

The P5ND2-D has killed 2 OCZ DDR2 PC4200 EB and one 600ADJ
It killed the known good PSU on start up, popped instantly and I believe the DDR2 died on removal from the system.
There is latent juice in the system and installing or removing peripherals will discharge the system. It will try to turn on or the fans will bump upon discharge.
My raid drives were scrambled as well.
Max FSB reached 277Mhz
Max memory reached 980Mhz
Max 1:1 266Mhz (underclocked from stock DDR667 or DDR800)
AI Booster is limited and good for a few Mhz over what you booted at. I am using the new bios too.

Fugger, how the hell did you manage 266mhz and 277mhz one at 1:1 and the other I don't know how.
How did you do it? Did you replace n/b (that gets really hot) Im on water and struggle when it comes to 4.5ghz to keep it stable and anything over 990 mhz(bios) is unstable straight away.
Please let us know, also with new bios how did you manage to get the overclocking working, did you tweak something?
