To support all the new cards and the X2s? I want to see the battle of the titans get going again. Are they just waiting for the R520?

R520 is delayed (again) according their conference call:

I don’t think that they will release a patch to support the duel core processors, apart from the fact that they will have to completely redesign the software to support musty threads its ment to be a representation of gaming performance at currently there aren’t any games that support multi processors (except quake 3 I think) so it would be an unfair representation of your actual gaming performance. However ide expect the next 3dmark release (2007 or whatever) to support the duel core stuff as that is defiantly where the road is leading (the unreal 3 engine supports it doesn’t it?)

Doesn't Doom3 support DC too?

nope,
the first game, since the days of quake 3, to support dual cores will be the unreal 3 engine.

anybody got any reviews on doom3 and AMD Athlon X2 4400+ dual core benchies?? I would like to see how much faster doom3 performs, since it was said that doom3 supports multi-threading.
