View Full Version : Average tubing length in a W/C system?
Just want to know how much feet of tubing would be enough for an average watercooled system (cpu & gpu cooled "only"). :)
Thanx!

Well, it all depends in your case and where you decide to locate your components, but I have used as little as 2.5' of tubing, and as much as 6' of tubing. I would say, on average, probably about 4' or so.
Darn! I ordered too much! :D
I guess It'll be about 5' in my case then (2 pumps, 2 heater cores, 1 res in a big tower case).
I'll probably just sell the extra length.

Nah, you didn't get too much. You always want to have some extra in case you screw up. :D Plus, you will inevitably want to move everything around, so it's nice to have some extra lying around.
After I fit everything in the case there won't be much space left for moving stuff around. :D But since it'll be my first w/c setup, the chances are I'll screw up. ;)
Oh... was this a good choice of tubing?

I always order 15 feet of tygon. Of course I have a 7077. Never know how much your gonna need, heh.
@fareastgq: How tall exactly is your 7077 case?

Hell yeah it is. That primo-flex totally rocks man. It puts Tygon to utter shame IMO.

1ft 11 inch tall, 1 ft 11 inches from front to back. I'll prob only need about 7 ft total. I like to have a bit of slack though so I can move around the tubes. Also makes it easier to take compnents in and out, so I am guessing 8 ft at the most, 6 at the least. the left over tubing is in case I need to change my setup. $60 in tygon is not cheap but it is the best :)

What shipping did you use? Airmail Parcel Post (4-10 working days)?
I've imported from the USA many times but it usually took at least 7 days.

'Ground'?
Do you mean Economy (Surface) Parcel Post? Hasn't that got an estimated delivery time of 4 - 6 weeks?

I don't know the delivery time for ground but 4-6 weeks sounds reasonable. I don't really know why I got it that fast, the delivery was made by DHL, maybe they got a really fast organisation :)

That's not fair man! And I have to wait until like middle of July to get my stuff from USA (and I ordered everything about 2 weeks ago)! :D
That's discrimination ;):D
