GRRRRR, i have an Abit an8 fatality mobo, and it's ace, but i have real; trouble getting it to work on the internet!
i've installed the drivers again and again, check the TCP/IP settings, used diff cables, used a hub out of the router, connected straight out of the router!
when ever i check the ipconfig in command prompt, it shows that there is a internal IP being emited, and when i look at the status, there is packets being given out by my pc, but non being recieved!
does anyone know what it wrong? or have any ideas for a solution, i've never had this prob before, think it might just be this mobo :(
any help would be great!!!

I had the same problem yesterday with my fatal1ty aa8xe... I use the windows "systemwiederherstellung" (I don't know the english word, perhaps system restore?) and the problem was fixed

Ohh  , i'm not the only one with this problem?
I can't get an ip from my isp, but if i connect my d-link to the adsl modem and then my comp to the d-link it works fine.
I managed to get an ip directly from the modem before, think i was pure luck or something.
I just left everything on for like 6 hours or so and then when i came back it worked, but this time after our lan i'm not that lucky and i have to be behind the crappy d-link for it to work.
BUT, if i connect a different computer and write down ip, dns and all that :banana::banana::banana: and then manually type it in on my computer it works for about an hour then i have to do it again....

My onboard NIC for my AV8 is a POS, do yourself a favor and disable it, and go buy a PCI NIC. Not exactly what you wanted to hear but it is the best solution.

he-he, yer think i might, managed to get it working tho, got everything installed, and plugged in, then unplugged the power from the modem (while the pc was turned on) then plugged it back in again after a while, restarted AND IT WORKED :P
thanks for the help again people:)
