I am going to be building a new Athlon 64 X2 machine right away and I need some advice. I already have an OCZ Powerstream 520watt powersupply which I hope will be enough power for a dual core/sli rig. Also I have 1gig of samsung TCCD (PQI Turbo Memory) which I will be re-using in the new machine. Everything else will be all new.

First thing I need help with is the case. I am about 80% sure I want the Cooler Master CM Stacker...but does anyone have any good alternatives to that case. I definitely want a full-tower with lots of cooling and space to route cabling and I don't really care about the price. Also I am pretty sure that I want the DFI NF4 SLI motherboard, is there anything better out there? And finally I can't decide between the X2 4400+ or the X2 4800+. I really don't want to spend the extra $500 if it isn't going to overclock any higher than the 4400+. Do you think they will overclock to the same speeds or would I probably get more speed out of the 4800+? And finally should I get 2 6800 GT video cards or wait for the nex-gen which is suppossed to be out really soon and I have heard that it could be faster than 2 cards in SLI??? I think that is all of my questions. Thanks for any advice.

Other parts I am getting include:

Plextor 16x dvd-rw
soundblaster x-fi
thermalright xp-120
hitachi 500gb

1)The cooler Master CM Stacker is an excellent choice! I have this case and really love it! Pretty easy to manage cable on....

2)The DFI is for sure the one to get!

3) I would take the 4400+... I will probably overclock nearly as the 4800+ and will cost less! (multi isn't a problem for you since you have TCCD mem)

4) If I was you I would wait for the next gen card over 2 6800GT in SLI...

I think I have decided on the Cooler Master CM-stacker case. I am still waiting for some more overclocking results for the 4400+. I was almost 100% sure on the DFI motherboard with SLI but now I see that ATI is releasing a new chipset and sli solution of their own which might be even faster. Well I guess I will just buy the case for now and then get the processor next. Then I can wait for the motherboard and gpu. Damn I can't believe the 6800 ultra's in SLI are already going to be beat by another new gpu, it seems like they just came out! Does anyone knwo yet if the R-520 will be faster than the G-70? I am going to get one of the two but I definitely want to get the fastest if I am going to spend $500+ on a single card.

rumours says the r520 will be faster but thats pretty much based on pure speculation.
