I,ve got one for you, i was fooling around with the audio on the comp at work and deleted the audio and i mean all the audio the little speaker everything to do with on board audio is gone. Tried reinstalling drivers no good. Now if i hook up speakers the cd player will play but there is no volume control. You go in multimedia all the volume controls are gone.

What version of Windows? You should be able to add it in add-remove progs if it's 98-ME.

If it's XP or 2K.... Good question. I'm messing with it now to see what I can find.

Wierd... Do you get the windows start sounds?
I haven't been on a 98 machine in a while.

No sounds at all, tried to install sound card and got this error. a required DevCon32 DLL cannot be found.

Can you extract that file from the Windows disk?

I don,t have win98 the guy who put the comp in my office put win98 on the hdd as a file, i can get to win98 but i can,t find that file. I thought about just putting my win2k on there but it,s got network stuff and it,s hooked into the company copier all that would have to be reinstalled so i said screw it.

Ahh, so you only have the Cab files. Well, that's as good a reason as any to go to Win2k or *hint XP *hint

I was gonna try out xp but i redo my rigs so much that thing they have about using it more than two times or whatever scared me off.

"Some people" got Corporate versions from companies they work for. There is not activation with the Corporate version.

Yeah, that's the bad part. I got one from our IT guy. he was suppost to give me XP home. But I got teh h00k upz!:p

Wasn,t paying attention putting in new drivers got a window about install or delete and click the wrong little dot. the rest is history
