I felt like I had to do this just cuz of interest as the price differences like we all know are quite huge, depending where you order from. I choosed a rig I might order in very near future. As comparision online hardware selling sites I used the highly popular US site newegg.com and one of the popular sites for European PC enthusiasts, overclockers.co.uk.

Conclusion:
-----------
Whoa! I could have guessed the price difference would have been in the range $300 - $400 but not $559. But to be fair we also have to remember all countries are different. We Finns I would say for example got free education (even Uni lvl), tax is quite low, the child allowance which lasts until age 18 is quite high and yearly health checkups & dentist visits for free until age 18... and we get quite a good sum money from summerjobs here should make us young Finns have more money in our pockets than most americans in same age has, let's say 15 - 18 year. So having that and perhaps other factors in mind, it evens out the price difference pretty much, but still $559 was a shock to me. But it still bugs me a bit when thinking like this that if I was in US right now and ordered from newegg I could swap that 6800GT for an Ultra or X850 XT PE and buy some watercooled setup and could still afford it.

I hope this comparision was useful to others as well except me, thx :)

If you dont want to pay the high tax get someone trusted in the US to order from neweggg for you and then ship it to you as a gift. It will save you a lot of cash for sure.

In case I had some relatives living over there I could have considered it but I don't even have any "trustable" friends over there. Hmm btw... that price for OCZ Gold VX PC4000 on newegg was pretty amazing imo (if u compare with oc.uk) :p:
