Hi there.
Up until last week i had the following setup:
GA-7NNXP mobo (6 phase power)
Athlon XP mobile 2500+@2500MHz (12.5x200)
2x512Mb Corsair XMS3200XL 2-2-2-10
Seagate IDE HDD
GeForce 6800GT 420/1000 AGP
SBLive PCI
then
i changed the graphics card to a X800XL AGP (110nm model)
Now, my CPU can only run at 100MHz FSB?????
I'm getting 1250MHz at 12.5x200 in the bios.
i can run at 22.5x??? in the bios, and the cpu fsb stays at 100MHz. 2250MHz.
Has anyone come across this sort of behaviour before?
The 6800GT is currently in another pc at another location atm, so i can't switch back for a few days...
I sent an email to Gigabyte, since i'm pretty sure its a mobo problem, and they just replied that mobile cpu weren't supported, and they can't advise anything.
I'm not too bothered, since i just ordered a replacement mobo and cpu, to tide me over until the Crossfire mobos and R520's are out...just seemed so weird, i thought i had better ask.
