Ummm....if your running the p4 in your sig and have it with HT enabled, just install d20l to a different named folder... that should work i think.

You want one instance per logical and physical cpu.

you can run them all under the same node ID by using the same "node.prp" file. That way you can have 1 machine crunch under 1 node.. rather than having 2 nodes for 1 machine.

cool, so if I understand well, I must install a 2nd time in another folder and use the same "node.prp" file on each folder?

you dont have to use it, but it keeps thing neater, and better organized. Install in like D2OL 2, and just copy the node over from the other folder.

Sorry didn't quite well understood your post, are you saying that I must put a node in one logical cpu and another node in the physical cpu?

I got a problem I use a 2.8A for daily work and at night at home my 3.2E (the one on my sig) and at work I installed d2ol and I cant understand how a 2.8A is better than my 3.2E, 'cos you can see in the pic below that there is a big difference between both, the 2.8A has only 512Mb value RAM and the 3.2E has 1024Mb OCZ Ram and HT enabled.
And in my opinion I use alot more the 2.8A during the day for Photoshop working and only on the night I use the 3.2E for gaming, dont understand what is happening.
So the 2.8A that is working all day, is crunching faster than my 3.2E that during the day is only crunching, doing nothing more, I dont understand, could it be a bad OS install or something else in my PC?
http://homepage.internet.lu/mercadhyr/XS_threads/d2ol/2.8A-crunching.jpg
and if my maths are good in 14 days the 2.8A will be doing 1813 cands with only 1 node and my 3.2E did only 939 cands with 2 nodes.
Can some1 explain me what I'm doing wrong somewhere ?
EDIT: I blured the other nodes 'cos they arent anymore active and to everyone see which nodes are active, and as soon as I got my 2nd rig working there will be more 2 nodes, hehe

I don't have much experience with running 2 apps on 1 processor, so someone else is going to have to explain your problem... I run 1 instance of D2OL on some P4 2.8C's with HT turned on... they will do around 100 a day with light usage throughout the day. Possibly try that... leave HT on and only run 1 D2OL. See if your production changes any.

thanks for the tip, I was thinking on that sometime after I posted my question, I will try that soon and let you know how things changed

It seems it's better that way, in less than 10 hrs I did 50 cands, whereas b4 I was doing 30 or so with 2 nodes

seems to work good for me.. the computers still feel really responsive too with only 1 D2OL running and HT on.... and I still get good production. Glad you got things straightened out :toast:
