Market research firm IDC recently indicated that Advanced Micro Devices commanded 27.8% share of 4P server market in the U.S. in the most recent quarter, which is a proof of the company’s success in the enterprise-oriented computers.

good news, intel still sells very much xeons thou they aren't worthy compared to opterons. but the more the sockets the less intel

I wonder as the K8 is a RISK chip emulating x86, can't amd make a pure RISC proccessor and try to penetrate the risk server market. It will super have more power going straight than emulating x86
