OCZ’s PC-3500 Gold Gamer eXtreme Series modules are rated to run at 433MHz with CL2 2-2-5 latency settings, which are among the lowest in the industry. While the default voltage of the PC-3500 Gold Gamer eXtreme Series is 2.8V, higher than default voltage of DDR memory, OCZ allows to boost it towards 3.1V without losing the lifetime warranty.

why only 3.1v? 216mhz with 2-2-2 and 2.8v sounds nice!

Its for gamers not overclockers... thats why. My guess is they figure gamers are lan party noobs who dont know any better.

the VX and Gold 2-2-2 both fall under the new "gamers" memory, along with the whole gold series.

ANyone know what chips are in these?

i bet its tcc5, could also be bh5, but tcc5 is cheaper and some can def do 216mhz 2-2-2 with 2.8v easily.

im sure there are more tcc5 chips than bh5 chips that meet that requirment. and tcc5 is cheaper i think.

Regulator07 try the http://www.datasheetcatalog.com
But you have to be smart enough to understand these kinda things.

Looks like the price pressure from Mushkin is making them panic. :p:

My first instinct is BH-die UTT..... however there is a slight chance they could be using TCC5. My only question is, can TCC5 ram get that high with only 2.8v?

I think its tcc5. It more likely to get at that speed with only 2.8V compered to the UTT which likes volts.

I'm almost positive its BH-UTT. It says in the link its in the Gold line. All TCCD/TCC5 is in the Platinum line and all CH-UTT/BH-UTT is part of the Gold line, that settles it for me :)
