So what's the best solution? I mean for television, recording tv and movies to my pc, music, dvd burning... all that crap.

Software:
I've heard Microsoft Media Edition 2005 kind of blows.
The ATI All in wonder software is supposed to be the best.

Hardware:
There seems to be a debate between Tivo and Comcast DVR's and their inability to transfer data to one's PC.

There's also ATI all in wonder cards which are great if you want a X600 pro (only PCI Express model).

I was thinking an nVidia GeForce 6600 GT graphics card, an ATI TV wonder Elite Tv Tuner and the ATI All in Wonder software. Does this seem logical to anyone?

get the ATi tv tuner elite, it has built in hardware mpeg2 encoding and a 3d comb filter that kicks the ass of all other tuners on the market now. ;)

I have the AIW x800xt for my AGP system.
Awesome card for both media and gaming.

If you want a PCI-E gaming card that can do media too, then a AIW 9600xt is the best you can get.

If you only want a TV box, cable, game console, etc. to conecto to your PC, you could just get a card with VIVO

You can also get the HDTV wonder
Works on PCI slots
