The Egg is only has good prices on budget pieces. I remember back when the X850XTPE first came out they were charging 1K for a while they finally just got down to a competitve price in the past 2 weeks.
Hehehe, didn't get it there, no. But 500 pieces! lol

newegg has the nerve to charge shipping for this, c'mon at this price it should be next day free shipping. btw, anyone wanna help me count my pennies that i save for this chip? :). i say newegg will be sold out of these chips by the end of today. remember there are people on this forum who grow money on trees :). unfortunately i'm not one of them :(.

Why would anyone pay over even $400 for a 512mb cache cpu, dual or not? It doesn't make any sense, but blame AMD, not egg.

I just got e-mail from monarch about my X2 4800+
AMD did push the full circulation date of the OEM chips to the 24th. The OEM chip has a 60 day Monarch warranty on it.
So its look like i have to wait a little bit for my new rig...

although the 1MB versions are somewhat higher performance, there isn't THAT big of a difference. I doubt you would notice it anywhere without benchmarking it.

Can't really blame Newegg too much. AMD's OEM prices should be something like this:
4800+ $981
4600+ $783
4400+ $561
4200+ $507
Maybe - $10 for each..
