If I were to bring over 51 P4 1.8GHz, that being 91.8GHz (Willamettes I think, not sure, it's a computer lab at the university, with SDRAM :() as well as a dual 1.2GHz P3 Xeon box, a dual Alpha 666MHz box, and 15 to 25GHz of other random boxes, how fast do you guys figure I could crunch work units? ;).
Right now my friends and I have all this stuff crunching SETI@home, getting an average of 252WU/day. For reference, the P4 boxes take about 5.4 hours per work unit for SETI@Home.
Since SETI is finishing at the end of March, at least according to their timetable on their website, we'll need a new distributed computing project to work on. I can't guarantee my friends will want to fold for team 3365, or if we'll even do folding, but if we do, I would like to know how much crunching power this would be . Thanks guys ;).
EDIT: We may also be able to add another 120 machines in some of the other computer labs (my friend works for the department of computer science) ;).
