IIRC the current way to apply AS5 to IHS of an A64 is to put a small pellet of AS5 in the center and twist left/right as the HS is mounted.
The process gives a neat air bubble free circle of AS5 directly above the core itself.
If the 4400 is a dual core then the chunk of silicon is going to be larger (possibly a slightly different shape) so having a circle of AS5 with the corners of the IHS not covered may not provide the best for this type of core.
One option is a slightly larger pellet of AS5 (size of a bb?), the circle is larger and then covers the entire IHS with the slight downside that there will be excess AS5 squeezed out at the sides.
Any comments? Any photos of a dual core to give an indication of size/shape in relation to the IHS?
