DSL Problems!

I am on verizon DSL and i just got finished building my new computer. For some reason I can not go to certain pages on the web. I can not check my inbox on hotmail or on hot-shot. I can not get to the downloads on the asus home page, and some other sites, but I can go here and i can go to most other sites. What might be causing this?

Dont want to hi-jack, i have BT 2meg broadband and i cant get onto hotmail either, i thought hotmail was borked or something :p:

check your settings, u might have privacy set too low, which wont allow you to log on cerain websites. Go to tools, internet options, privacy, and set it to medium.

Ive tried everything, could it be that I have a "ehem unofficial copy of XP?"

Try a different browser such as firefox and see what happens. If not download knoppix whack it in your cd drive and see if you can access then. On 2meg 650meg will take no time.

Ive tried using Opera and that didnt connect.

With that knoppix will have wireless drivers? Im using a 54G Usb connected to a router.

Hmm...could it be an issue with secure websites? Https type stuff?

Tried that knoppix its made me now want to start using linux :p: but I had trouble getting it to detect my usb wireless dongle :(

Try disabling the windows firewall, or any firewalls you may have in the line.
