Ok that's enough!!!! Give us the test immediately!!!! :D
And I find one problem.... if I use XP-90 or XP-120 hsf, I'll not be able to use SATA 3 and 4...... so will this hinder o/c ability?
By the way, the layout is pretty much like NEO2, isn't it? :p:

I'm pretty sure the xp-90 and 120 both will go far enough over the cable that you can still use those ports.
Oh, and that chipset fan is hilarious.

There are four SATA ports, so you can always use the other two.
The fan seems kinda basic, which is strange. You'd think it would have been more flashly or something coming from DFI.
Whats great is the motherboard comes with X2/Venice/San Diego support out of the box.

If you read this (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=46730), it seems that only 2 of the sata ports are locked on Nforce3 chipset boards.
MSI is..
SATA ports 1 and 2 are not locked, use slots 3 and 4 (closest to the cpu)
EPOX is..
TIP: SATA ports 3&4 are not locked, use slots 1&2 (closest to the agp slot)
I suppose we need to see what space there is, but ultimately we need to find out what ports are locked.
I'm just installing the OS at the moment, and doing some updates..I'll keep you guys posted, I got an FX-55 (claw) and some OCZ Value VX...if I get the chance today..I'll see if the Booster works too :)

I got a Keyhanger, a mousepad, and a T-shirt (and yeah that catalog :D )
Bios screens added, I only took foto's of the Genie part, because the rest is all fairly NF3 standard :)
NOTE: Swifttech MCW6002-A64's screws are too short to go all the way in the backplate, I needed to remove a washer, which isn't really a problem
(final screen, rest of DRAM tweaking options, not too familiar with them, sorry guys)

Thanks Tim!
I love that "Award Workstation bios" name on top of the screen! :D
For the SATA ports, I think the two closest to CPU socket are locked, coz the other 2 are controlled by Marvell chip... but of course I hope that all of them are locked!!!!! I want RAID 0+1

Why are people worried about this? If you plan to use a phase change unit (Chilly1 comes to mind) then maybe there might be an issue.

well it would be kinda annoying using sata cables that have to strech over the motherbored it kinda screws up cable managment or get in the way of ur heatsink and they may get in the way for condensation proofing.

Why are the dimm slots too close? Do you mean as far as XP-90/120 over hang? I know... I don't like to have the hsf to over hang the dimm... much prefer an independent fan to blow on my UTT. And I've read the XP-90/120's perform better when the heatpipes are on the top side. The AGP slot looks mighty close though...
I'm willing to bet the SATA is there for locked FSB stability.

Oh wow those SATA ports are REALLY close arent they. Odd. But arent their SATA connectors that are L shaped, so they would clear the HSF?
And its also 20-pin. I guess thats standard on all AGP boards?
This seems like it wouldn't be a production model doesnt it? Its also missing the famous dual LAN ports!

First thing I looked for in the pics was the 4v jumper.
And yes, there are L-shaped SATA connectors you can buy seperately, but I honestly doubt you'll need to...

My worst fear turned out to be true....my FX-55's memorycontroller is really gone....230Mhz and not a Mhz more....the same as on the Neo2....I tested it over and over on the Neo2, but I guess I just need to give up.....
Market will have another 2nd hand FX-55 along with an Neo2
Will get a Venice next week to see if it is true...but I'm almost positive...

3.2 isn't bad for a 939 AGP board; some of us were maybe expecting up to 4.0 but compare it to the Neo2's 2.85.... and 3.2 seems pretty good
I may have to get this board because my Neo2's bugged and Monarch is taking FOREVER with the RMA process, after about 11 emails back and forth the guy says he'll try to get the RMA approved so i can swap out the board for a working one... currently it's having trouble booting up and randomy freezes in windows. Reinstalled 754 board and the HDD and memory is good... :slapass: Neo2 and :slapass: Monarch
EDIT: forgot to add that 2 reformats didn't help, my Neo2 is just messed up and it randomly started happening from nowhere

For the love of god... The NF4 boards had problems with the 4v jumper, as it killed ram. DFI even said so. They removed this so that they wouldn't have the same problems with this board. We're hoping that a modded BIOS will allow us who have an adjustable PSU to bump up the voltage to close to 4v, if we need to do so.

i dunno if there locked.. he may have tested them, but theres still a narvel chip located by the bottom 2 sata.. i highly doubt there native sata ports. i think the nf3 chipset is limited to only 2 native ports from what is semi-blurred spoken about on the DFI-street forums.
untill i get word from dfi, or some more people, i can't say i believe there locked, unless you can lock seperate sata host controllers that run through the pci bus.

I wasn't complaining about the 4v vdimm jumper removal, bro... just trying to help out others.
I'm no expert though, but if Clockgen lists the AGP and PCI speeds as 66/33 that means that they are locked right?
HTT is now at 220 and the AGP/PCI speeds stay the same....check the screenshot, SATA connector 1 :)

yeah, seems locked to me
i heard that in DFI's 754 NF3 board, as soon as HTT is raised beyond stock 200, the bios automatically kicks in the PCI/AGP locks, so assuming this applies to this mobo as well, you have absolutely nothing to worry about.
BTW, how is that nVmonitor for that board?
Even if it sucks it's better than MSI Corecenter! I don't even pay attention to my Neo2's temperatures because the readings are so wrong....

NF3 250GB will show the same 'locked' buses via Clockgen, but try running a SATA drive off port 1 - 2 and nothing works past 240mhz.

Memory is on 166 divider, CPU voltage is at 1.65 (for 2500Mhz) so, I think I eliminated everything right?

shouldn't be unless the plasic is cheap.. i dont think they will break, unless u pull on them while there frozen.. but the plastic wont bend much when cooler, the it would while warm.
So just put some Die-electric grease on the pins and connector and you are set?
Good :)
Booster seems to be working ok.....plugged it in Slot 4 (Top most slot), got it to 3.4-3.5 volts, did a few memtests, booted up etc....voltage increased was correctly, you could even turn the knob and see the Vdimm in the Genie section increase, so I think that is a positive sign..
But again....it's a really tight fit with 2 memory modules

It may be a BIOS read out issue.
This is even weirder....
I select 1.50 + 0.2 in bios and now it shows the correct voltage on Vcore 2 in Speedfan....1.73 which it should around.
Bios shows 1.52 and Vcore 1 shows 1.52 (is there a difference btw, between Vcore 1 and 2, is Vcore 1 the startup setting (1.55 in my case? )
Just great..... 1.50 + 0.2v in bios.....get's this...

Are you sure ? I can't believe that  It may be an bios issue. Btw read voltage when CPU is on stress, if load rises here on s754 Vcore does too :)

NO! I'm wrong, I put these settings in the bios and this is what I get....
1.550 + (the 0.X are the settings in bios)
0.1v = 1.47v
0.2v = 1.56v
0.3v = 1.61v
0.4v = 1.72
Doesn't make sense to me!

I agree: significant different between reading CPU voltage Idle (low V.) and on Stress (high V.)

Really? I don't trust software..my Neo2 would jump all over the place, and then I measured it with a DMM, and the Vcore was extremely solid, so I'm not really buying it... :)
I'm gonna try a 325Mhz HTT Fission :) But as said before, my memorycontroller on the FX is weird, so I have to use at least a divider and low Mhz...I'll keep you informed..

What should be a safe Chipset voltage? 1.75? :)
On the NF4 ultra-D 1.8v chipset and 1.4v LDT were the common settings for most overclockers, at least on DFI-street.
On my VIA (not a word...) The voltage goes to 2.8, and I so I put it all the way up there, it didn't hurt at all, nor affect sys temps. It is really limited on FSB, but it does add stability over 270HTT when I give the chipset voltage a little boost. 1.75 should be fine, in terms of safe, and unless the max goes up over 2v, really anything should be safe I would think.

I don't know why- that is jsut what I have seen A_G and rgone post about why the NF3 needs a rail mod. "the chipset just doesn't allow for it". perhaps it has something to do with voltage controlling from within the bios?

Pretty good so far, i am overclocking my 3000+ pretty far. Looks great! Really matches my LED Orange case fans :)
This is my advice to you guys, don't RMA your XP90's special screws along with your old board. I ended up having to use the standard mounting bracket screws with my XP90 and they are too long so they touch the case and don't let you mount the mobo in the case. Had to cut the screws off the back of the mobo using my old swiss army knife... i'm at my friend's house so there were no other tools lol.
EDIT: i do have to agree with above post, i'm getting pretty weird voltage issues. Once i booted up at 1.44 and it showed 1.60 and then 1.45 and then after i restarted it wouldn't turn on and i had to clear CMOS :(.

I have been beating on mine since Saturday, and I love it. Haven't had it past 345HTT at 1T(8xmulti), but it obeys orders very well. It gave me 1more Mhz out of my RAM, no problems there, and it delivers awesome voltages.
Highly recommended if you are an overclocker, the quality/features that DFI hinsk to include. Sure there are a few opportunities for improvement, but it is IMHO the best 939/AGP out there so far.

If you are going over 300 HTT, you need to raise chipset voltage to 1.75
i kept getting BSODs even when Prime95 was stable, but 1.75 volts instantly solved that

I would order it today, but I budget my toys and won't have the money "officially" until next week. I think I will sit tight right now and see if these early issues get resolved - or amount to much. My current EPOX board is working, I was just looking for a better OCing board. Nevertheless, thanks for posting the NewEgg link - I had given up on seeing any new NF3 boards. Better late than never. I don't think anyone knows enough about this board to answer any questions yet. It might be best to wait a bit until the new BIOS is released by DFI before you use the board. And its going to be a month or so until anyone has had enough experience to answer half these questions. I just ordered mine, so even I havn't used it yet.

That is the shipping BIOS. All betas were taken down, as they were not stable enough for public release.
The board is stable, just don't expect to get a lot of tweaking out of it just yet, as the BIOS needs a little more work.

I'm not so sure about that as you are ;)
You see I still have the Neo2 running 9x311 24/7, but a friend of mine has the DFI board but can only boot @ non-overclocked settings somehow :(
He can adjust it in Windows but it's a tedious job to do it every time...
Since I only had to perform the 3.3v line = vdimm mod on the Neo2 on the back of the board I can supply my UTT ram with enough juice (3.5v-3.6v thanks to my OCZ adjustable PSU) to run @ 255 2-2-2 :)
In short: I don't see any real advantage of the DFI agp board yet... might improve... certainly hope so for the peeps who got it...
