I just replaced my burned up A8V with a DFI NF4 Lanparty UT Ultra-D. I'm having trouble getting it to boot in dual channel though. It boots fine with either stick in either slot 1 or 2 and with both sticks in the first 2 slots (still single). I can't get it to go passed the 3 light Checking DRAM stage though with a single stick in slot 3 or 4 or with 2 sticks in 1 and 3 or 2 and 4. What am I doing wrong?
What type of memory are you using? (brand and model) Does it beep at you when it hangs?
Peace :toast:

OCZ 3700EB 512x2
No beeps, 3 leds on the diagnostics
Sorry, didn't read your 1st post closely... you can't boot with a single stick in slots 3 or 4... for 1 or 2 sticks single channel you have to use 1 and/or 2.
After you boot with a DIMM in slot 2, turn off MB power by using the power button on the MB (lower right corner), verify the green Vmem LED next to the yellow slot closest to CPU is off, put your 2nd stick in slot 4, then reboot while holding the Insert key down.

I tried what you said above, same problem as before. What does holding insert do btw?
PS>>> lemme clarrify on what is going on:
*Single stick in either slot 1 or 2 - boots fine, no problems, memtest stable to atleast 240 3-2-2-8 at 2.9v.
*2 Sticks in slots 1 and 2 (Single Channel) - would boot with the original bios (1/19 I think?) but not with the 3/10, 510-1 or 510-3. With newer bios it wont get normally passe the dram check but occasionaly makes it to the boot logo and freezes.
*2 Sticks in slots 1 and 3 or 2 and 4 (Dual Channel) - stops at dram check (3 leds) every time.

It sounds like you have symptoms related to some peoples Cold boot problems.
Do you have any othe RAM to test?
Keep us posted.

Nope, I spoke to an OCZ rep and they want me to RMA the 3700EB for some 4200EL with the TCC5 chips.
