Ever so often, my video won't post during boot. Once it gets into Windows, the video will show up fine. But not until then. Usually I have to yank the video cards, set the jumpers to single mode, reboot, then switch the jumpers back to SLI, and reinstall the 2nd video card. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm about to make this P.O.S. a skeet shooting excericise! So tempted to order a Abit A8N-SLI and be rid of this mess once and for all!

My video cards are XFX 6800GT's. Of course with them being watercooled, it makes it really fun to go through the above procedures, then even more fun when the cold boot issue plagues us...

ive always said DFI boards are finiky and picky.... you wont get them to do anything unless you tweak the heck out of them, and at times they still buck...

buttt, if you find the sweet spot, they will flat out scream

Now that I have had some cooling off...

I did the vdimm mod trick, and now the video seems to be working okay.

My 0513MPMW FX-55 BN is pretty weird though. It seems I cannot boot at either 10x or 11x multi. 12x works fine however? It locks on the updating bios portion of the boot. I've tried different voltages, settings, etc. all with the same lockup.

Right now its running 3001MHz with my Mushkin @ DDR500 2/2/2/5. Any thoughts on the multiplier issue? OPB?

All I can say I feel your pain. Been feeling it ever since I got this Gigabyte Ultra 939. :stick:

As of now, its running 3060Mhz (255*12 1.56v). That is SuperPI 32m stable and S&M 1.6 stable so far. Ran Memtest for 40 minutes of test #5 without errors as well. So far I am happy again, especially to get off that wicked 5v rail. Think I will cancel my order tomorrow that I placed for the Abit A8N-SLI Fatality board...

watch it crash and burn 3 seconds after you cancel the order, lol... beware of the cold bug >.>

Asus has it's problems too; like no 1T command rate. Maybe you should try MSI???

Shooting electronics is cool, can I come?:)

I had the exact same problem on DFI NF3 and radeon 9700 (no problem on other MBs). No problems with 9500 and riva tnt2 though. I tried updating 9700 bios, mb bios, changing bios setting with no luck.

By the way you can press ctrl+alt+del during initial post and MB will restart and show output.

I tried the ctrl-alt-del method and still got no post. It seems to be tide with the 5v cold boot problem. Now that I am running off the 3.3v line with vdimm cap method, the problem isn't there anymore, at least with the video card. Still has issue's with mutliplier, but I am happy now with what its running so far...

Like me :D

But, it took ALOT of tweaking and reading about this board before I found that sweet spot. Sooooo many options.
