Can some one post a picture of cpu voltage read points for a p5p800? I'm thinking of doing a volt mod to correct vdroop and would like to know exactly how much droop I'm dealing with.

Sure, I think I can help.

I have one of those mobos and its a good O/C board, but not exactly sure what you mean by "read points".
That board comes with the little software program called "Ai - booster" which looks like the dashboard of a new car with its "Auto" style features and includes a Vcore dial voltage reader. Is this what you mean?

No, I'm looking for physical points on the motherboard to read actual voltage. From what I understand monitoring programs will never be able to give an accurate reading.
Thanks any way :)

You should be able to get a Vcore reading from the chokes/inductors near the CPU socket. There should be some bare wire/metal where the choke meets the board. If you can post a picture of the CPU socket and MOSFET area, I can mark the points on it for you.

will this picture work, sorry that it took so long to get the picture. I dont own a camera and had to borrow one.

Try checking at the point where I've marked in the picture :)

persivore, after doing volt mod cpu is stable at 250/16. However it still takes alot of voltage to keep it there, also board over volts more now. bios is set at 1.525 and asus probe reads 1.6 idle and 1.576 load. At the point on board that you showed me to test with dmm I have 1.6 idle 1.61 load. There are four of these coils around the cpu area and all read the same. I'm figuring that this maybe as good as I'm going to get this board working, what do you think?

0.01v droop is quite good, but there will probably be more fluctuation at the actual CPU pins than what is shown at the inductors. You might be able to adjust the droop mod more, to get no droop. ). 0.01v droop is probably the best you can realistically expect IMO, and could be dependant on things other than the Vcore regulator itself.

Thanks for your help, think I'll water cool cpu and call it good.
