umm, yea.

What are you doing with the chip? Gamer? Use the search, this is a vague question and one that should be asked of you, not by you. What the hell do we care? :slap:

Should I buy pepsi or coke? Does anyone really even care? :D

i would prefer 1mb cache but what multi is on the 4800+ i would assume 12x

Yep, the 4800 has a 12 mult for 200 x 12 = 2.4Ghz :)

Yeah i looked and it looks promising for multitasking. however games dont support it yet. Its that or either wait for the fx57 ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh or should i get a fx55 BN . I want at least 3400mhz stable on my vapo and i know a few people on here have them like DUMO and OPB. If you guys read this are you stable at 3400mhz???

UnrealCpu nobody can guaranty that your proc will be able to hit 3400, but 4200+ needs mobo that could run 310 HTT . And ur mobo is perfect for that(btw what max HTT can it hit ?). Maybe try 4200+ with moneyback.
Surely FX57 gonna be the good at OCing, but it`s costy.

I'd go 4400+, it's just a bit more expensive than the 4200+ in the Netherlands and the 1mb cache is worth the extra money. I think a 4800+ is a waste of money unless you want to brake some records with it.

4400+, definitly.

I agree 57 or 4400 but when will the 57 be out grrrrrrrrr 4400 out in a week

My question sorry to highjack the thread but will the 4400 help with sli gcards because every one says the bottle neck in an sli system is the cpu :slapass:

Only when games get multithreaded wich I think no game is out now.

Going 4400+ myself. Plant to run SQL server and web service on 2003 server while playing game on same machine :) (oh, it doesn't usually use much... it is more for developing softwares to pay my hobby)

Would it be possible to shift the SLI driver processing over to the 2nd core and run the game on the other? That would give a huge boost in 3d01 for sure as it would effectively eliminate the driver overhead processing time. Might see the benefit in selected games too.

I agree with Cooper on this one...unless you're multi-tasking like nuts or something, for normal gaming/benching, I'd get the cooler-running 4200+ and oc it to 2.6ish.

Two 2200MHz+ cores and a single 200MHz memory bus - I'd go for the 1Mb caches everytime.
In theory if you don't mind non-1:1 memory you can clock up the core/fsb anyway. The difference in core vs. memory speed will make more use of the cache (until it has to access the bus anyway).

Not sure if this has a negative effect on the overall system performance, I'll experiment and find out.

4400+, very future proof. 4800+ if you've got lots of money to throw away :p:

definatly go with the 4400+. with the 4800+ your just paying 400 more dollars for a 12 multi instead of a 11. 11 is plenty.

Since I myself have preordered a 4400+ that's were my hard earned cents would go. NickK has a point about the FSB being shared, fortunatley the actual cores are using the crossbar interface to cache sync (unlike Intel using the FSB).
