Please move if not appropriate forum

I just replaced my fancontroller with a AeroCool gatewatch. Its PWM controller.

I run 4 Y.S Tech 125 cfm fans, and they are only 2 wire tails. I knew when I bought the unit, that I could not read the rpm, but thought I could still blink control the fan, (my old controller, also PWM could do this by adjusting the rhoestat.)

But I found out that this fancontroller needed the 3rd wire for rpm to controll the fan. Do I need to get new fans with rpm wire, or is there a fix around this.

If not which fans have a rpm wire plus is about 85-140 cfm 120mm x 38mm

thanks for any help

Yes you are in the wrong forum. I will move it to the air cooling forum for you.

I just got one of these becasue I wanted the big ole display. They are ok if ya got room for em!

Each 12v rail output of the Aerogate can handle 1.7 Amps, so you should be able to drive multiple fans off a single fan power output channel. Check the amperage requirement of all fans you want to add together, and add em up for the number of fans you plan to drive of the single power controller. less than 1.7 Amps? Getterdun.

If you are using any other fans in your case that have the sensor wire and that you don't mind going faster or slower in parallel with your main 125's, just Y off that power output for your two big fans.

You wont have an accurate RPM reading on the two larger fans, but by putting the thermal sensor for control in the right location it should effectively slow or speed them up properly.

Or get new fans, sorry I dont have a suggestion but you can look and compare fans at Newegg, Directron, or Casemod. Pricewatch.com is your friend! :) Might want to keep an eye out for DBA ratings too for the least noise, if you care about noise.....
