Well after suffering on this iBook G4 1.4ghz for the past 2 months i decided to put my ultra-D back together with my borked x700pro (former record holder in 03 and 05, now holds spot #2). I did this out of pure desperation in a minor hope that it might magically work again.. i was bent over working on the board and powered it up when i heard the monitor click on and i about fell out of my chair as i got up to look at the monitor and spotted the Ultra-D bios logo..

So it seems my punishment is over and i can go back to using a real machine. i just have to do some final test with the card to make sure its all working but everythign seems to be running fine.

ill snap some pics right now for you.. and it got 17k in 01 everything running stock.. sadly though i pulled off the vcore mod.. but that will only take a few minutes of modding to get it back on there.

there are the pics for whoever wants them! if you'll notice there is no fan on the x700 heatsink. this is becasue it BLEW UP the second day i had it.. it literally exploded.. i noticed the gpu was at 90C and the fan was stopped and partially hanging out from the heatsink.. it was one piece but it was just hanging together by a thread.

Love the Ghetto cooling used all around. Did you try to repair anything on it, or it just came back to life on it's own?

I have an ATI 8500 card that will only run in 2D mode so long as you don't load the actual ATI drivers for em. Works fine using default XP driver though. I think the memory was blown out when we hacked it to run my friend's homemade frankenstein G4 system.

Glad to hear that your system is back from the dead max.

Hopefully my CPU will be resurected as well. its not 100% dead yet, just very unstable. Think I fried the memory controler.

its a T line as stevil alluded to. you really cant have a closed system very easily (i am not really sure how you would go about doing it) and I didnt feel like putting my gigantic daul 5 inch bay res in there for no reason.

the T line is for filling up the system and removing all of the bubbles that will show up.

I only have the video card watercooled as the cpu will only hit 2.3ghz and not one mhz more.. it clocks the same independent of volts and cooling... sad little pos winnie.

oh and the card idles at 27C and load it maxes at 30C

ya the winnie does suck.. had a great one before.. 2.8ghz it did.. gfx is running at 31C load right now at 1.600 volts vcore.. max ive gotten the core is around 573 stable.. gonna see what it can do with 2 months rest.

ya my 3200+ does 2.6 ghz on air, but for some reason, when i oc windows seems to take longer and longer to load each time i restart my comp, so i just leave it at stock now

got a little update here. even with what might possibly be the worst winchester known to man (maxes out at 258x9 bench stable) I took back the 05 world record for x700's. with a score of 4037. taking the record by a whopping 12 points.
