I'm really confused :/

I was doing some tests this morning:

250 1'5-2-2 at 3'2V, ok, no memtest errors and pass superpi.
255 1'5-2-2 at 3'2V, got errors and not exact in round
255 1'5-2-2 jump to 3'4V, no memtest errors and does superpi fine

Then I started to push the fsb by 2Mhz, 257 was ok, 259 was ok too, then 261... got 240 errors at every pass in memtest so I decided to try something "new", put my vantec tornado on the memory xD (before that there were 2 8cm fans at 30cfm's both fans).
Errors went from 240 to 0, that's very good, but then I tried to push it at 263 1'5-2-2 3'4v too, but memtest got frozen at pass 1 :stick:
Before put some more voltage I boot into windows and set the mems at 263Mhz with clockgen, I started to pass superpi when at loop 8 windows got frozen... strange! It didn't say "not exact in round" or something else... I just got frozen.

Go into bios, set 3'5vdimm and voila, the same again.. sometimes memtest is frozen other times it just reboots when is loading memtest (or windows), and it does it at any voltage with >262Mhz in the memory.

What do you think guys? Isn't that rare?

PD: That's in the yellow slots, if I put the memory into the orange ones I got thousands of errors at just 255Mhz.
Bios 510-2, mosfets properly cooled (two fans more).

FROZEN memtest usually means the CPU Vcore needs a bump. Remember, OC'ing the ram also OC's the CPU memory bus which can increase demands for Vcore.

I've lowered the CPU multiplier to 8X to discard that... :(

That is very odd. Did u ever burn your mem in before doing this? Find out where u don’t get any errors (now) and then tell us what that speed is. BTW, what CPU do u have, maybe the mem controller has a problem.

I haven't burnt it cause it is almost 2 years old BH5 mushkin ram (which was from 2 persons from this forum before me). The cpu is a Venice 3200+ and it is stable at 350 fsb with a proper mem divider.
The "100%" stable mem speed is 259Mhz Cas 1'5-2-2 at 3'45V, 262 is impossible (and lower timings to 2-2-2 doesn't make anything).

Now it has done another rare thing... when was trying memtest at 262 the bar went to >100%, so 101%,102%... until 140% when it got frozen again (but the + was still blinking)

Lowering multi aint gonna help, and wont drop Vcore requirement. Just up the Vcore a knotch or two and see if memtest doesnt "freeze".

That hapend to me up the Vcore...set the mem voltage to 3.3 volts and set the FSB to 250...let here burn in for about 24 hours that should let you get higer from there up the fsb by 5 mhz a pop and let it burn in for 24 more hours...the errors should steadly drop doing that you should top out at about 263 where you were but with 3.3 volts...you might gain some more by upping the vcore but not much 270 will be about the limit for those sticks...good luck
