Just browsin the web and found this small name cooler looks like it can do its job well with 12 copper heatpipes and optional 120mm fan mounted sideways.

swambast, looks can be deceiving.....I've not seen anyone using this HS nor any reviews it might not work any better than a stock intel hs ! lol

It LOOKS like it should perform, but you never know.
I'd be interested in your results ! ;)

Just ordered it :) Should be here in a couple days anyone want to send me a XP-120 or XP-90c to review it against I'll try it fanless and then with a 94cfm fan. Thinking about coming the heatsink guru around here and keep a running review of all heatsinks released. :)

Its not much but here is sort of a performance look at it: http://www.madshrimps.be/?action=getarticle&number=9&artpage=1289&articID=224
and here they compare it against a bunch of heatsinks: http://www.madshrimps.be/?action=getarticle&number=12&artpage=1292&articID=224
Sorry to maybe steal your thunder Pulsar :p: . Anyway I rather see a review by you who will hopefully put the heatsink to use on an overclocked cpu.

I just looked at the pictures again and from what I see you could mount two fans on it. It would be cool (no pun intended ;) ) because you could create a push/pull setup. The only problem I see is attaching the other fan to it. You could probably use wire coat hangars because the fan clips look like bent ones. Or just use two rubber bands to hold them on.
Pulsar, if you do a review could you please try it once with two fans on it.
If it really does work then it might beat the xp-90c since it already seems to beat the xp-120. I like the fact that its 120mm instead of 90 because two tornados would be horrible sounding.

IMO it would work very well if you covered two sides so that airflow was forced across the entire surface of the cooling fins and had a push pull on the other uncovered sides as icyroy05 pointed out.

Looks like newegg has it for sale also: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16835185122
That Shogun cooler looks good from the Madshrimps article with a different fan or fans if you want to go double fan also. The only problem is that its near $70. It would be great if you could get it without the fan and it be cheaper. Also at that price you might as well go with the xp-90c with the tornado unless you dont like the tornado. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16835185121

The shogun is quite different, one large heat pipe.
I'm surprised these are more popular than they are, must not be marketed as well as Thermaltake and Thermalright

Just checked my order it shipped. Hopefully I'll have it by Friday for testing. I really need to start collecting heatsinks to do a big in house roundup review :)

Here are some results from overclockers.ru, test using both overclocked and overvolted cpu. The results are quite amazing - the HS is capable of passively cooling overclocked (but no overvolted) prescott without reaching throttling levels

The heatpipes in the ninja are to close to eachother. If they would be further from eachother the heat could be transfered much better to the fins :fact:

Nazgul thanks for spottin that review I thought the ninja would outperform the shogun cause it had all those heatpipes where as the shogun is just a solid block of aluminum. I dont know why madshrimps has the shogun outperformin the ninja something just doesnt seem right.
I agree with you alexio if the heatpipes were spaced more evenly among the fins that would set it up for better heat dissapation. I cant wait to get my hands on this and see what its capable of :)

cool.

The ninja appears like it could significantly benefit by a spacer/duct, as the fan motor housing blocks airflow to the heatpipes.
Might have to spring for shogun. 120cfm? I'll strap 2x150cfm deltas.

Alright well just got the heatsink in and boy is this thing huge. One thing I hate about the growing size of these heatsinks is the level of difficulty putting them on. Well tried put it on, after some guessing things had to go into a certain order and well finally got it on. Go to boot dead, more than likely it was the flex I put on the board trying to get the heatsink on, has happened before :( . Well its disassembled and sitting for a couple hours I'll give it a try then. Kind of good news got mine P4 2.4 back up and crunching :)

I need some intel soldier ! :D
so what about the quility ? does it look well made ? solid ?
=[PULSAR]=

It's built on a pretty solid base. Just like the fins on an xp-120 they are very maluble so you have to be pretty careful on bending them. The base is definitely do for a good lapping I guess this is where they cut corners with companies of a lesser name. The fan clip design isnt as well thought out as it could of been even that was a pain in the arse. Clips as far as I can tell will only work on a 25mm thick fan cause thats all I have and they were pretty streched. All around its a nice sink just needs some work. A plus over the XP-120 is theres not as much as a compatibility issue, I could use all my dimms. Well hopefully I can put some money aside for a new MB and a couple other heatsinks, I really want to get a good comparison review going. Suppose to be starting my new job as a mover...can you say back breaking labor :p:

The heatpipes in the ninja are to close to eachother. If they would be further from eachother the heat could be transfered much better to the fins :fact:
I figured maybe they put all 3 in the center because there's less airflow there. The dead spot at the center of the fan would line up with the heatpipes in the middle, and that way there's less air resistance.

Alright got the sink in the new system gave me about 8C drop over stock sink with a 94cfm fan. Super PI temps were 40C with a 3000+ @ 2.85ghz 1.72vcore. Tried the ninja with 220cfm delta temps seemed to change very little or not at all. This sink is good for passive use or with a low cfm fan. Higher flow doesnt seem to change temps at all, I guess its because the fans blow horizontal. If you plan on using a high cfm its better to have a heatsink blow directly down upon the core. Off to gather some more heatsinks to start writing a roundup. Feel free to send me heatsinks for my review :D
