I won't be switching over to water cooling for quite a while, and in the meantime, I would like to install some decent aftermarket cooling on a BFG 6800GT, that is shipping as I type this, and comes with the old single fan HS. I've kindof narrowed the selection down to zalman zf700 copper, or nv silencer 5 rev 2.

If any of you 6800 GT/U owners would happen to have some experience with the 2, or perhaps a different recommendation altogether, feel free to share it with me. :toast: It doesn't need to be perfectly silent... this case has 7 noisey fans, along with the 2 noisey fans from the PSU, I'll hardly hear the vga HSF anyway, but what I AM looking for is lower temps period .

Thanks in advance.

Although I dont have the Rev2 of the NV5 (Didnt even know there was one..) The first Edition has served me well, dropping temps about 7-10C from the stock heatsink.. Although im using a BFG 6800 NU. I dunno how well the stock HS performs on a GT. Who makes yer card anyway?

Lots of ppl like the Zalman, but I have been very happy with my NV Silencers - would vote for that one all day long.

I said that already ;) I'm leaning towards nv5r2, I like the idea of exausting heat out the back, even if it is just a little pricier. I won't even overclock it much, I just want that aftermarket quality cooling, intense games just plain run better with cooler temps, overclocked or not.

Has anybody else got any other suggestions, no more expensive that nv5? I'm looking for alternatives more than anything.
