View Full Version : DFI LanParty NF4 Ultra-D + Sandy 3700+
Hi guys!
I have my system on the signature, and i have some question. First of all. ¿what the f*ck is that FDD power connector on the board for?
Then, i managed to get this, but not really stable: This (http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc?id=20352)
I got 330*10 or 300*11 with 1.65V, but it's not stable even with SuperPi 1Mb, and it doesn't become stable even @ 1.88V...
Somebody can tell what the problem is? I'm using Oscar Wu's modded BIOS N4D414-2, cuz my chips are CH5 and I will probably go for VX, but dunno yet.
Thanks!!

Impressive OC :toast:
From what I have seen, Vcore doesn't give too great boost. My winchester does 2400mhz at 1.4V without hassle, but for 2610mhz to be prime stable it needs 1.7V :(
I think I wanna leave it @ 275*11 for the 24/7 usage, and I'm testing stability ith SuperPi 32M. (If I pass Prime95 even @ stock speeds, it crashes within less that 1 minute..... ). And now it just passed the test @ 1.61V. :)
Great processor, does a lot with low vcore. :D
Do youknow something about the FDD type connector?
Thanks!
removing the IHS can help much ...

Just plug it in, another power source to a very thirsty mobo. Could possibly help with some stability problems. My experience with DFI is to plug in everything available and be sure to use a real 24 pin ATX connector psu ;)
Very nice O'C!!
Very nice O'C!!
Thanks!
OK, I will see if it gives me more stability. :)
I'm using an OCZ PowerStream 520W, so it's feeding perfectly my mobo... :D :D
This vapochill is great, it makes good things, like 2800Mhz @ 1.360V... :slobber:

dont agree
u loose only warranty... and 2-4C drop
look on my signature
But I think this is very relative, cuz loads of people will say that it's great to take it off and a lotta people will tell you even not to think about it. :(
Really dunno what to do. Having my sandy under vapochill's power, I don't think that I really need to do so, but I will maybe try it with my winnie and its watercooling. :)

its a trade off...if you can shell out for another chip just in case something happens...i would go for it...but i can't

Taking the heatspreader off is cake and can give nice gains. Sometimes you gain nothing but I've seen 50-80mhz from it. Thats deffinatly worth the 5 minutes it takes to cut it off :D

its definitely worth it to take the ihs off when phase change cooling.

Yea, good, but i'm afraid of killing my core. I wouldn't cry really long for my winnie, but I would for my sandy... :(
Anyway, if I do it, I will try it first on the winchester one. :D
And something else. I dunno if you've seen Vapochill's evaporator, but could it damage my naked core with its pressure? (if I take the ihs off)
thnks!
