Can somebody explain me why is this single PC3500 512MB stick of redline so expensive?

Even more expensive then the dual PC4000 2x512 kit:

Doesn't make sense

Also what is this redline with 2-3-2-6 timings, and is it any good?

they had that with the VX when it first came out too...buying an indivudiual stick cost about as much as buying a dual pack

soon the price should adjust it to 1/2 the price of a dual pack

Is there any performance difference between the DDR dual pack and the single sticks? I know awhile back some of those DDR dual pack were tested and tuned specifically to run Dual Channel but not sure aobut these Redline.

BTW, the price for that single stick 3500 has to be incorrect, last week newegg accidently priced the 4000 Dual pack for only $123! someone was lucky enough to jumped on it and newegg actually warrant the purchased and shipped him the sticks

Yeah I think that has to be incorrect or something, because here is the single XP4000 for a lot less:

I find it hard to believe that mfgs would bother to "optimize" individual sticks to run in DC.
DC works just fine even w/ 2 sticks of diff mfg/brand.
Sticks of same brand are *completely identical*. Would they waste resources to literally tune sticks "specifically to run Dual Channel"?

The RAM itself has very little to do with DC-capability.

- of course due to claim such optimizations, they can charge a bit more $/piece ;)

Dual channel capabilities are powered by lies and marketing.

Newegg has made some mistakes with our pricing lately. They have a new person that is uploading prices and she inverted a lot of it. We have been talking to her to fix this so if you see more please let me know.

IE>.. she had listed the 1gig dual pack xp4000 at $115...

Newegg has been weird lately, over on the AMD forums someone found AIW X800XLs for 52$, and they bought them, and were shipped out to them :>
